or you can install tweakui for win2k ..the w9x version obviously works also

win9x ****s up the mbr (master boot record) so u need to get the mbr pointing towards the ntldr etc files, the easiest way to do this is to *start* installing win2k again and interrupting it after the first boot thereafter (when you get the 3 sec bootdelay pic saying "windows 2000 profesional installation" or so...after that just interrupt the installation and edit ur boot.ini .. i heard that win2k doesnt run off of the same partition as any other os tho..dont know that for sure tho

yea..reinstall win2k otherwise im 95% it dont work cause a lotta stuff in the *.dat files and in installed progs *.infs point towards where ya installed win2k

yea win9x overwrites the mbr, but u can easily fix that by inserting and starting a new win2k install and just after the first boot interrupt it and edit the boot.ini file (ie remove the line that says something like windows 2000 prof. installation..) be careful with the boot.ini tho..id recommend a backup

in system ini after [386enh] add : ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 then itll use ram before swap..have had lots of friends that have LOTS of ram that doesnt get used before swap..works nicely under my 128meg system too =) [This message has been edited by nagual (edited 11 May 2000).]

no it dont BUT u can use msconfig from w9x (just ignore the error msgs) try at ur own risk, tho i havnt heard anyone having a prob with it..also next time..try the "OTHER" part of this forum =)

could also be fdisk /mbr, we have an argument on that one here..just be careful if ya enter fdisk =)

fdisk c: fixes ur mbr and u can reinstall thru the autoplay feature on the win2k cd from win9x

oh..and the folders that are renamed are rendered useless. format *: (yea it has hit every partition so far)
