    server folder, elp!!!

When you create a user under 2000 they get a new profile automatically and will have there own desktop and start menu, As for where the profile is stored this can be moved to another drive by changing path to profile. Do this by right clicking my computer icon and select properties then user profiles highlight profile you want and click copy to button then specify new path.

    bulletproof through a network

Are you trying to FTP to your server machine (win2k) or to somewhere else, If it is your server do you have IIS installed and the permissions set correctly. Are the machines using fixed IP address's and are they on the same network range. Also if you have a modem already try the NT4 drivers for It ,I have done this and never had a prob yet infact i get a very good connection from it.

Where can i find software to wake on lan

You must use a compatible network card for this and there should be a setting in the motherboard's bios setup.

    Sharing Over Internet

The way you have it set up with IIS should be ok It is just the permissions that have not been set correctly. IIS is used as a web server and should be fine for the job, Can you share the folder as an FTP site and allow access via iis that way.

    IRQ sharing

Hmmmm i would suggest that you should move some of your devices to the free irq's 2, 5, 7, 10 & 11

Which is higher SCSI card? 29160 ? or 29160N?

This is what the Adaptec site says about these cards (one is 32bit pci other is 64 bit pci) BELOW. Adaptec SCSI Card 29160N [top of page] Ultra160 SCSI performance, with easy connectivity to internal hard disk drives and external narrow SCSI devices The Adaptec SCSI Card 29160N is tailored to the needs of small multi-user work group servers and powerful workstation users. This 32-bit PCI card gets the most out of high-performance Ultra160 SCSI internal hard drives and the widest selection of popular external SCSI devices. Adaptec SCSI Card 29160 [top of page] Maximum Ultra160 SCSI performance, with greatest connectivity options for internal and external hard disk drives The Adaptec SCSI Card 29160 is tailored for the entry level to mid-range server environment. It delivers the maximum throughput for a single channel Ultra160 SCSI card by using a 64-bit PCI interface. The Adaptec SCSI Card 29160 allows for connecting Ultra160 SCSI (LVD) or legacy hard disk drives, internally and externally. I would make sure any drives you have are ultra160. Good Luck...

    Can't see server

I know this may sound silly but is the scope of your DHCP server address pool big enough to allow that many address's to claimed

    Yamaha CDR100

Has anyone managed to get a Yamaha CDR100 to work under 2000, The drive appears in device manager but does not have a driver installed. I beleive this drive uses hex 04 instead of 05 so it cannot appear as a drive but i cannot get Adaptec cd creator to find the drive.(it looks at drive letters)
