I'm making uuber bunches of money this weekend for working Christmas, and I thought I'd dump it into a new digital camera. Don't have one, so I was wondering if anyone knew of problems with a camera and Win2k. Just planning on transferring pictures over to my PC...photoshop 5 if I need to "tweak" anything...just like I do now with my Logitech QuickCam...nothing special

Stop giving me useless crap for Christmas! I need to find that song

I had a K7V and a Annhilator Pro... it simply didn't work in W2K...blue screens for no good reason...not sure of the fix...but your probs aren't unusual

I did search. look at my status. I'm not a newbie--I know to search before posting questions. I never saw that post in the search. Thank you though.

I have a Gigabyte with an ALI chipset...and an ATI All-In-Wonder 128...AGP. Works fine. but I know the Asus P5 is a less-than-great board....many problems with the video cards from what I've been told. all you will get is AGP 2x...but it *should* work fine. The one good thing ATI does have is compatibility ------------------ NECESSARY EVIL --[H]ARD|PC SERVER-- <Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2 RC2.52, IE5.5 SP1, DX8> Intel Pentium !!! Anyone know if this application works in W2k? My mom wants this for X-mas....but I don't like buying (new) software(and hardware) that won't work with the NT Windows (NT, W2K, Whistler)... Especially since i'll be upgrading their PC within a few months. [This message has been edited by INFERNO2000 (edited 16 December 2000).]

this thread is dying.... JD has left us.... is this the end of the legacy?

I have a Hauppauge WINTV-Go and an ATI All-In-Wonder 128...tried them both in 2k the WinTV works perfectly....but I don't try capture. ATI doesn't have real support for their TV stuff...so that's no better. not sure about 3dfx's I know it's expensive...but soemthing about that company...doesn't make me feel so good. sure they have a great past...but it's the past. They quit the manufacturing process....

If only that were true in this case it seems I have two different soundcards that bear the same name. Old Diamond S90 -Vortex 1 Aureal A3D New Diamond S90 -ESS Maestro no A3d *edit* I seem to have found the problem. The bastard mislabled it...sold it as something it wasn't. I don't have the Diamond S90 I wanted, I have the Diamond S70. DAMMIT! [This message has been edited by INFERNO2000 (edited 12 December 2000).]

anyone here know why my S90s said Vortex 1 when they were in the Compaq, but when I bought one seperately, it says Ensoniq? Oh--and I made Page 32; sorry for the flooding. I won't do it again [This message has been edited by INFERNO2000 (edited 11 December 2000).]

you can never go wrong with a GlobalWin or Alpha. They're your safest bet across the board. the Thermaltakes are good too...for the PIIIs, at least. Stupid AMD chips are so fragile...not exactly sure...heard many horror stories(I think the Chrome series fixed this though). just make sure to get some good thermal grease.

Not Win2k specific, but I'm looking for a hub (8 ports) that has both the RJ45 connectors + the power plug on the same side...not worried about LEDs or switches...just something I can mount in my case(hence the need for the power plug and ports to be on the same side). If anyone knows of a decent quality one for relatively cheap, let me know
