who ever said anything about my being nice?
-
Actually, I don't come here enough to stay on the top 10 list. I'll be moving off of it fairly soon. With JD back? I give it a week. I'm over at the [H] as NecessaryEvil now.

I was just getting him off the top 10 list nothing more

it's jdulmage and we're asking what the harm is? lol jk anyway... it's sad how things have moved up. yes, it's essential for gamers like me. I like my 1600x1200 gaming on my 20.1" LCD. I like my quarter terabyte of hdd space--it helps with my TV-capture card's encoding of movies(or TV) into DivX. My computer is a media box My computer is a gaming rig. My computer is a powerful workstation My computer is NOT meant for lil ol grannies that want to play Solitaire between making cards. The perfect low end system for most people that aren't: gamers, programmers, power users, etc. is something along the lines of this: nForce motherboard. 256-512mb RAM(depending on how they plan on using their system) Duron 1.1ghz (or Athlon as need dictates) 40gb hdd to start out with(if they go Kazaa crazy, they can add in more) a 40x CDRW(price difference between 40x and 32x? 10 bucks. Price between 40x and 48x LiteOn? Free w/ firmware update ) DVD drive Videocard with TV-out(probably a GeForce3 as they're about the same price as a GF4 MX) sound is taken care of onboard, and is high quality ethernet is taken care of onboard modem as necessary quiet case with room for expansion Now, a system like that only will cost about 500 dollars. add in peripherals and software, and it's about 800. But take into account piracy from friend,s and it's closer to 700. It offers room for expansion. it is relatively affordable. and it is powerful enough to last them a year or 2. With proper upgrades, it can last them up to 3. But at this time, we'll be running 64-bit systems that make this system look like a toy.

Just what it says I'll start out: I'd like to change from my 19" CRT to a 19"(or 20") LCD or dual 15" LCDs -
I've been an avid Trillian user since Ver 0.625. I love Trillian....the only bugs I've known of are because of AOL ****ing around with Trillian. the newest release, .73 was released because Microsoft notified Trillian that there was going to be a change to the MSN service. (How do you like that? MS HELPING the little guy!!! AOL just tries to prevent Trillian from working). If there is a problem, the guys work on it immediately. They've been known to release 2 or 3 versions in a single day just trying to catch up to AOL's sabotage. You lose out on many features...like voice chat and webcam with Yahoo!, but for a no bloat/frills(Other than some awesome skins) chat program that can handle multiple ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo accounts, you won't find a better program. And if you do, let us know.

I sold it on ebay for 195 after shipping. -
I did the thing was made in January. that's talking about the GF3 and GF2, just like I said. GF4 has been said to have a MUCH better picture than the GF3...and the GF3 was muchbetter than the GF2 I can't back that up until Friday, most likely Finally put in the order for a GB of Corsair XMS3200....and the RAM was all that was missing in my system.
-
that talks about hte GeForce 2 and 3..not the GF4. there may be a difference...probably is, due to the dual monitor ability.

my list The Good: MSI, Soyo, Abit*, Asus*, IWILL, Gigabyte, SuperMicro, Tyan, EPoX, ECS(their K7S5A is a great ****ing deal. Fast, stable, and CHEAP AS HELL!) The Bad: Asus, Abit(yes, these get voted twice. ****ers at Asus neglected a CMOS reset switch in the A7V133. But my old CUSL2 went up to 170FSB. As for Abit, I've had 4 boards. The BX6 didn't overclock past 103 mhz FSB, where the Soyo 6BA+3 went to 153mhz before the RAM went out. The SA6R couldn't match the CUSL2's 159mhz standard OC. 2 NV7ms went bad last week after the first one's BIOS update(Abit's batch file the readme said to run) went bad, and the second had a bad controller. I fixed one of the NV7ms by swapping BIOS chips, and use it on my LAN box. I'm posting from it right now.), The Ugly: PC Chips, Chaintech(PB OEM!!!), FIC AMD: If I have to buy an SDRAM board, I'll buy an IWILL KK266+. DDR, I'll buy an MSI board. I love my KT3 Ultra ARU, and my brother's K7T266 Pro-2RU. The Soyo Dragon+ has a better RAID controller(in that it can be set to UDMA controller only), but USB2.0 is more important to me than an $8 NIC. MSI pwnz0rz j00!
-
I picked the 4400....because that's what I've got in my cube. (GF3 TI-200 in my lan box) Why the 4400 instead of 4600? it's not worth the extra hundred bucks for an overclock my 4400 can probably do(if it lives up to the Gainward Tradition)

Not many people have the smallest of the Antec series...I'm looking at getting one, painting it in Hammered Red....but I'm looking for opinions. I'm familiar with the 8xx, 10xx, and 12xx....I know how I can do comparisons. But I want REAL experience.
