Al Gore trying to steal the election.

I'll respond to the Missouri one. My grandparents and uncle live in Missouri, and I've spent a lot of time there. Carnahan was VERY Well respected and liked in that state. It was heartbreaking for them to hear that he had died, because he was going to be the landslide win. However, his wife(the one that will take the office) is also well respected, much the same way with the Dole's.(Bob wasn't going to run...but there were rumors and speculation that his wife might--and a lot of people I know said they'd be voting for her.) Missourians didn't make a mistake or do something stupid, they voted either out of respect for what Carnahan did and felt his wife would continue to do, or they voted because they didn't like the other guy. Just think of if Clinton died, and Hillary took over. The country wouldn't like her, but she'd probably be competent enough to run the nation well. Luckily all you NYers have to find out how that will go

    Well Well, goodbye 3Dfx

so sad... but..whereas 3dfx is going back to just chipsets...nvidia is releasing CRUSH, a chipset that could compete with the likes of VIA..which I would like to see. I'd go back to AMD if nVidia puts out a good system...I might even settle for onboard GeForce2MX graphics for a while? I hope it goes well.

Al Gore trying to steal the election.

I voted for Nader, so don't blame me.(And I'm in Illinois) Personally, I feel this election was a joke. It wasn't a vote of who was better..but rather a vote of who scared the hell out of you the least. Gore won the popular vote--so by that aspect Gore should win. But the United States is f*cked up. We have the electoral college bull****. But since we have it..it seems that Bush should have won. He's won the first round by over a thousand votes Recount by law? ok. fine with me. Bush won again? Ok. get him in the White house. What is this? Some stupid people that make davidnewbould seem relatively intelligent can't follow an arrow? Or worse yet, don't understand you can only vote once? Well fine. throw their votes out, good. Their votes shouldn't count if that's how dumb they are. Personally, I'd rather have an idiot(Bush) than a liar(Gore). One can hire smarter aids, but one can't hire honest people to mask lies. I still say I should move to Canada or something.

ahh...autoexec.bat my old friend I remember feeling like I was the coolest guy around because I edited it to say something other than the normal C:\ Something like "What is thy bidding? SMP - AMD and Intel

1: depends... 840 is probably one of the best, but it required RDRAM. Look at a Tyan motherboard, or an ABIT based off the Intel 440 2: Simultaneous Multi Processing 3: only if the application supports 2 processors. otherwise you'll only use 1 4: Quake 3 Supports it in beta mode 5: Dunno 6: Windows 2000 and anything you want hardware wise

    Voodoo5 Vs. Geforce2 Ultra

LO****ingL! from hardocp.com "Glide Underground and about 20 other people are all reporting that since 3dfx is "licensing its 4way SLI technology" to Quantum, that they have cancelled the V5-6000. The wording is a little off, but it can also be read that 3dfx licensed the tech to Quantum and QUANTUM'S boards aren't going to be retail...." I knew it ;(

    HP 9110i cd-rw not working with win2k?

If he JUST got it, take it back and get an Iomega or Plextor. Those don't have any problems in W2k. HP writers are notorious for not working properly in W2K, and HP can't write drivers for ****. Otherwise...just hound HP until they can give you some advice... Use Adaptec Easy CD Creator if you can, I'm not sure what HP gives you for software. Nero is nice too...but Adaptec seems to be the standard.

  20. Just what the topic says. THat many "errors", all saying the same thing. This happens every time I run NAV. "The protected system file xiffr3_0.dll could not be restored to its original, valid version. The file version of the bad file is 3.0.0.18 The specific error code is 0x800b0100 [No signature was present in the subject. ]. " that's just an example. I've downloaded and installed every update there is for Windows2000...even ones that deal with things I don't have installed. SP1, and all the normal stuff. Any ideas? Computer runs fine..if I run NAV2000, I don't get this. W2K Start-up screen

I think I've read on this board that it can be done if you edit your ntoskrnl.exe I've edited my BIOS to include a picture on post, and I know there was something a few weeks back on how to edit your start button(without using an external application like tclock). I know why Ronin wants to do this--and I'm interested in it too...we're both trying to find a way to use the black Windows Codename:Whistler startup...but have it edited to say Windows 2000 (then the version)
