There are 2 fans at the top, blowing out the side fan is blowing onto the heatsink--but I can't really show that with that diagram Here..ya know what? Ok..the new situation with it(as of last night), has become Side fan(FULL TOWER) is blowing out. Top fan in back(above Power Supply) is blowing OUT Bottom fan-in front is sucking IN. I still need a 60 mm fan for the "exhaust", as that's the one place I DON'T have one--but I tore out an 80mm from my 486's Power Supply...may play with it. the sound doesn't bother me...My computers seldom run open, and when it's closed up, it quiets down real well I haven't done any overclocking--everything is running at its normal speed. I just don't like my mobo running at 113 degrees, when I can have it below 100. IBM is good...but Toshiba is MUCH better in general quality--they were the first computer company to certify their computers, from Satellite up, as Win2k Compatible. I now have 3 80mm fans(2 high output from the 2cooltek site), and the power supply fan. I'm still looking for a 60mm fan. the non-high output fan is above the power supply blowing out, 1 high output fan is in the front, blowing out and the last high output fan is on the side, blowing in on the cpu and the AGP and top PCI cards. This, in combination with the CPU fan, and the GeForce fan have dropped my mobo temp from 115 degrees to 95. I was checking out something in WCPUid on my dad's and my computerand came across something... We both have Athlons-he 700, me 750. But his says Athlon (model 1) and mine says Athlon (model 2) What does this mean, if anything? We both have Slot A processors...

His is an OEM from HP, that was bought in april? Mine is a retail bought in May, I believe

First off: What's a good temperature for an Mobo to run at? Mine usually is at around 105 degrees with just 1 fan(excluding Power Supply, CPU, and videocard), but I have 2 more in the mail. Also..in the c:\winnt(or whatever you chose) there are folders called, for example: $NTUninstallQ257870$ These were installed prior to SP1...are these safely removeable?

It's an AT---from my 486. I don't have the fans yet...and it's not that I have a lot of fans(there will be a total of (let's see...1 for PS, 2 in back, 1 in front, 1 on side, 1 on cpu, and 1 on video card...7 fans, of which...well..3, soon 4 fans will be added to what I have right now)....but that I don't have enough plugins for all of them, and I can either get the extenders that split the line, or I can be a cheap bastard and use my AT powersupply.

Is there anyway to replace the ntoskrnl.exe in W2k? It seems to be crashing whenever I do a virus check... Or would W2K SP1 have a new version that I should wait for?

i DID. AND I was able to scan the entire drive with no problems, other than having to tell it to accept the new files

I know that this is potentially a problem-laden system...so any help would be greatly appreciated. BSODs for the first time really in Win2k I'm running a Creative Labs Annhilator Pro on Det. 5.32 at AGP4x, but not fastwrites(screwed up the system) I'm running a Creative Labs SB Live! with the LiveWare 3 drivers... My system has errors show up, BSODS saying errors with Sysaudio.sys(my onboard sound is disabled) at startup...and ntfs.sys...plus the ntoskrnl...which hasn't shown up in a while. Fresh installation, all I've installed are teh archiving apps(WinRAR, WinZip, WinACE), the drivers for the SB Live. I've not successfully run the 4 in 1 drivers from Asus....
