I have a file, data.bak that's used by MS Office XP. I need to find a way to make that one of those protected system files, so it won't get deleted by another program I use to clear up registry entries and useless files(EasyClean, to be precise). Can anyone help me?

AVP2 became the first game I went out and BOUGHT simply due to a demo... Sure, I bought Half Life, but that was after using a pirated copy for about 6 months...and sure I own Tribes 2, but I didn't buy it. AVP2 was worth my 35 bucks...and I'd pay it again in a heartbeat. Linux doesn't suck. you just have to get used to it. Give it some time, and stop yer fookin whinin. It's not Linus' fault that the US was bred into DOS, and not Unix. Most people's problem is that they're used to DOS commands. So when you're dropped into Unix, you're lost. Take some time, learn what's different and new. Then it'll all seem natural. There is a learning curve. This isn't your grandma's windows, after all.

here's what I did edited the sysoc.inf, removed it from the installation. Downloaded the update(just so I don't have to stare at it every time) removed it from startup in the MSCONFIG rebooted it. closed it out in taskmanager Deleted the "Messenger" Folder in "Program Files" *poof* it's gone and never comes back.

In all Games, it's Necessary Evil.....either with or without a space. So far it seems that I've been the only one.

Which one would you guys prefer based upon performance issues(i.e. actually working)? This iwill be used in a dual Athlon WinXP system

I don't know what I did right or wrong.. but in XP Pro: Red Faction Quake3 RTCW AvP2 Tribes2 all work with whatever the drivers listed on the frontpage a week ago were on my Voodoo3 I only get about 70 fps, which isn't great..but it's playable.
