If you are trying to share the internet connection, you might be better off using an independant network hub(independant from the computer). I set our connection at home up like this, and I never got the network cable unplugged icon again(unless it was unplugged ). You can get a good hub for about 40 dollars at Staples.

I sent them an email asking WTF was up; it was almost the end of May-and it was supposed to be out. Still waiting for an answer...I'm tired of using this $80 camera as a lowly microphone?

Does anyone know of any decent Firewall applications(creating firewalls) for Windows 2000? I've tried Norton IS but it's 95/98 only..

Not sure if this answers anything or not, but W2K comes with DirectX 7.0a if I'm not mistaken...so it comes pre-loaded with the newest non-beta Directx there is. You shouldn't have to worry about it?

I have a GeForce256...it only did it in D3D 5.13 drivers...but I run Ogl

just htought I'd mention I have the same problem..and on occasion, I lose sound when going back into it

Ya know what? I'll be perfectly legit. My copies are NOT legit. None of my OS's are legit, and I have 95, 98SE(both of these with legit manuals and keys, but the cd was burned because what I got came with my ****ing compaq), NT4 WKS and SErver, and Win2K prof and Adv. Ser. hte only one I use is Win2kProf. And believe me, I'm seriously wanting to get a legit copy--I love this and it's well worth my money. But, we get copies of software with our college, and licenses for it I don't have Win2K licensed personally, but hte college does, which is hwere I got the copy. I come here so I can find things to tweak my windows with. I know the system well enough that I am tech support for all the users around me... It's just nice to see what's going on around with other people's systems. my 2 cents.

I think this is backwards..but it was worth note anyway. Last fall, my roommate installed RC1 on the same partition(accidentally) as his Windows 98SE. They DID work...but it was really screwy... It can be done..just maybe not well?

I get a message saying " Cannot connect WSAECONRESET" my system is a Win2000Prof(2195)/Win98SE duelboot(98 is dormant) PIII 500mhz(Pre-CuMine) 160MB RAM(PC100) Annihilator Pro (overclocked) Maxtor 30GB 7200 RPM and IBM 13.5 GB 7200 RPM ATA/66 drives Diamond S90 Memorex 4x2x24 CDRW Pioneer 6x DVD

I had a Diamond Stealth III 540 Xtreme...munning on those drivers and the betas that Diamond put out... The thing gave me nothing but trouble-when I'd try to run Explorer, my computer would freeze, and I'd had to reset. I threw in a GeForce and the problem went away...I'm not sure if it was bad drivers or a screwy card or whatever. Good luck is all I can say....just don't be too surprised if nothing works right?

I have to disagree. I'm one of those funny little twitch players in CounterStrike, and I've never had it skip. Only problem I've had is running off the everglide, but I just bought an HL Giganta from EG...so no worries. I hate MS hardware, but damn I love this mouse. If only it had the teflon pads my old Cordless Mouseman Wheel had...
