Netscape version 6 and 6.1 does not Install under windows XP

Netscape has supposively abandoned the browser market, tucked it's tail between it's legs, and moved on to media applications. Netscape is dead outside of linux. Hell, MS has IE for MAC. MS didn't screw up with IE....it's integration into the OS is their right--they're both their applications. That integration + the fact that it was generally better than netscape, sealed NS's fate -

If you can wait a few weeks, the Palomino XPs will be released. Otherwise, shell out the extra 20 bucks from the morgan for the 1.4 ghz Athlon.

I'll ask my friend who lives here. (I moved back to outside of Decatur, since I'm not attending ISU). (BTW---if you're not busy, at the interstate center, we're having a LAN party until 11 am Sunday--feel free to drop by)

Simple question. want to know if I have the timebombed for full version. (it's an RTM copy that I understood to be full, but I ahve my doubts)

I bumped it to 2004, it worked so I'm fine sweet. -

hehe I looked through W2K, when it was coming out of beta it said check winver. so I did no expiration date on it, so I think I'm good! and I can't do that yet...since I just broke my DVD in my laptop(which is where it's installed)...I'm not playing with it until I get it replaced(Thursday) -
I just installed XP...but don't see the sysoc.inf I'm used to from 2k where is it?
-
since I found it...if anyone searches, I'll answer it. It's not found by the SEARCH function....it had to be manually opened in the winnt/inf directory.

newegg.com has a leadtek GF2MX200 w/ TV out for 52 shipped. There's your upgrade--it surpasses the Voodoo3s..and probably the 4 and 5 with new drivers(+ TV-out). I'd like to see legacy support for the cards, just enough to make them work in XP...but oh well. Let's remember the cards in their glory and retire them ceremoniously. Let them die gracefully. Or, run it on a Linux box! Linux has had FANTASTIC drivers for 3dfx's Voodoo 3. It's still got some strength in there.

actually, I should say I'll be holding out on PURCHASING my own until the HAMMERS are released. As it stands, I'm running the REAL Professional Corporate Edition(i.e. not the hacked ***** ver.) from MSDN distribution. I'll be running it until then, so long as I don't find out it's timebombed. I don't know if it's upgrading, I have to format anyway with my new rig I'm building. if XP Pro can do what I needed from 2000 Server(and I believe it can, since I no longer need DHCP or DNS due to my router--only need to claim several IP addresses)....I'll go with it instead.

my laptop is listed as an XP-compatible (Toshiba Satellite 3000-s353). It's ready, with the exception of the Intel 82801BA/BAM AC'97 sound Controller. ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET DRIVERS FOR THIS??? XP native drivers did not work Toshiba's Windows 2000 drivers did not work.
-
I'll be holding out on XP until the Clawhammer....so I assume I'll be getting the 64bit version.
-
and you don't plan on fixing them in the next month? date is set, as well as the place. InterState Center (off I74) from 8am to midnight on Saturday, the 6th. That's the only time we could get it....and I think we're getting the room for free, so I can't argue.

This was posted at overclockers.com...but I agree with it. Just look at our track record. "If I know my country, America will say, "Now it's personal." And if there is any human force greater than the ingenious will of a United States united in wrath, the world doesn't want to know about it. "

I don't have one, but am thinking of getting one. do they still have the SCSI(it looks like it's a SCSI 25 ld) interface? I ask because that's what my print server uses. otherwise, I'll need an old rig to set it up as the print server
-
that's no problem I can get a 10 foot usb cable for 4 bucks at the local electronics shop. as for the parallel, I ahve that already.
-
with ACPI on, it should all share the same IRQ(more or less) This has been pretty standard since 2k came out, and it has worked flawlessly for myself and everyone I know. how is the GF2 being hurt by this?

crack the f*cker open and check chipsets are usually the best things to check
