I always used 4 primary partitions since I had the Pentium 133, now I have a PII333MHz... bullcrap anyone ?
-
Well I have the same motherboard SOYO SY-VBA 133, and the sb uses irq 11 !!!! So it's not only that you have the agp/dvd card that uses the same irq, but even the sb card uses, though there is a solution for you, the sound blaster does have a program that permit to change the irq from the card it self: http://www.americas.creative.com/win2k.html Here maybe you can solve something out. Good Luck.

If i was you i will go back to the store and replace the freak game, it's just like trying to play Half-Life all the way with one scientist and one barney, to open the doors, and change levels, and if they die you are cooked, finished, the game is unrealistically difficult i quit it, because even cheating you need the two dumbs thats gets killed when you let them wandering, it sucks to such extent that even cheating you can't win ?????? I dont know try something else....

Yeah that was the way my old motherboard slowly died, memory could be written or read, by the way I changed the case too, it was burning too much stuff lately, but the memory was ok, and so the error with the time at booting up, got to reset it everytime i started the power switch on, now it's zero problem, new mother new supply/case combo.

Anyoen see any problems with these Win2k Wintune scores?

I was trying to understand the incredible amount of Ram-programs that are you using. Actually 2 memory programs are too much !!! If i was you dump the Ram boosters and try without them, there is no way that such programs could accelerate your pc, I had similar problems with win2k rc2 and clevercache, high, high latency, slow response, slow performance. -
I remember when down when was winnt4.0, that HexenII run like a rocket over an NTFS full install, but I haven't try anything else on NTFS on Win2k.

I think that maybe is the Celeron the problem, but I am not sure what chipset do you have ? I mean BX, VIA, i810-820-840 (God forbid). Mine is PII 333MHz, now running ice cold at 500MHz (100x5 FSB), no additional fans needed.., that makes me think about... Buy this is faster, now we have this is faster than the other, to all are the same with different labels..., clever Intel ahhh, Ok Specs of CPU: BX80523P333512ESL2WY (or SL2WY for short) MM : 818668 FPO/BATCH : Y9030210 VERSION : 719799-003 2.0V PACK DATE : 01/23/99 Made in Ireland (Yes thank you folks, you rock) On a SOYO 6VBA 133, with the async memory clock to PC66, yeah, I will change the memory later, 'cause I had to do an emergency repair this monday after the Half-life burning com ports... ;-) -
On my new SOYO SY-6VBA 133 ? Exactly says : Board/BIOS-Version : VBA-2BA7 ALUATION ROM - NOT FOR SALE (Thanks CTBIOS for "sprachen in deutsche" only !!!!)
-
What the heck means "Evalution rom not for sale" ?

Thank you man... -
Anybody knows how to shutdown the sticky keys ? They are a major problem for many games......
-
Yeah, I had a problem with it, and had to uninstall or keep an "IRQ not equal or less" error crashing to BSOD, when connecting to the internet, after that the second attemp to connect the Internet via local LAN (cable-modem network card) works fine ? Tired of crashing every time I want to go to net i just dumped it....
-
Thanks Creative crappy software, anyways it was to small the cd/media/player, the recorder, the mixer, too much tiny stuff here. When you uninstall the great stuff it does leave your cdplayer mixed with and attack of "I dont handle this" and the media player (windows media player) pops up and says the same joke.... If somebody is so kindly hearted to give right registry strings to correct will be greatly appreciated. Oh, by the way is Win2000. Thanks a lot people.

Creative new drivers are out now....http://www.americas.creative.com/win2k.html

Well I have wrote down this just for all of you people :If your are aging waiting for Creative Win2k Drivers check here they are already coming out : http://www.americas.creative.com/win2k.html And if you wanted direct3d acceleration for your generic I740 click here : (current version works, 902 some what forced with Half-Life) http://developer.intel.com/support/graphics/intel740/ Problems installing those CD-R/W adaptec drivers or another drivers read [CAREFULLY] here : Make first a system state backup with the backup wizard here Start, programs, accesories, system tools, backup. The size of the system state backup will range about 203Mbytes, so make sure you choose the right hard disk partition, if want make another backup or you are so bold to compress it now, you will have no more access to it just when you need it the most, after is all set compressed is about 87Mbytes. Just in case some serious accident come out, remember I have been trained on NT accidents ;-P , then fire up the regedit in the run menu for easy access, and find three or more keys of file protection to shut it down, if you dont know how keep reading, if not your file protection will be zeroing the new files size causing a big kernel crash, yeah it's even "blue of death" screen the thing. You must be on administrator access to do this. Registry "guilty" zone : Remember there are 3 or more equal registry zones to find them use the Find menu Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager] "BootExecute"=hex(7):61,00,75,00,74,00,6f,00,63,00,68,00,65,00,63,00,6b,00,20,\ 00,61,00,75,00,74,00,6f,00,63,00,68,00,6b,00,20,00,2a,00,00,00,00,00 "CriticalSectionTimeout"=dword:00278d00 "EnableMCA"=dword:00000001 "EnableMCE"=dword:00000000 "ExcludeFromKnownDlls"=hex(7):00,00 "GlobalFlag"=dword:00000000 "HeapDeCommitFreeBlockThreshold"=dword:00000000 "HeapDeCommitTotalFreeThreshold"=dword:00000000 "HeapSegmentCommit"=dword:00000000 "HeapSegmentReserve"=dword:00000000 "ObjectDirectories"=hex(7):5c,00,57,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,6f,00,77,00,73,00,00,\ 00,5c,00,52,00,50,00,43,00,20,00,43,00,6f,00,6e,00,74,00,72,00,6f,00,6c,00,\ 00,00,00,00 "ProtectionMode"=dword:00000000 < Here is the file protection already turned off > "ResourceTimeoutCount"=dword:0009e340 "ProcessorControl"=dword:00000002 "RegisteredProcessors"=dword:00000002 "LicensedProcessors"=dword:00000002 "PendingFileRenameOperations"=hex(7):5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,\ 64,00,6f,00,63,00,75,00,6d,00,65,00,7e,00,31,00,5c,00,66,00,72,00,61,00,6e,\ 00,6b,00,62,00,7e,00,31,00,2e,00,66,00,6f,00,72,00,5c,00,6c,00,6f,00,63,00,\ 61,00,6c,00,73,00,7e,00,31,00,5c,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,70,00,5c,00,73,00,65,\ 00,74,00,75,00,70,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,00,00,00,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,\ 5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,\ 00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,41,00,44,00,50,00,37,00,2e,00,54,00,\ 4d,00,50,00,00,00,21,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,\ 00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,\ 5c,00,77,00,6e,00,61,00,73,00,70,00,69,00,33,00,32,00,2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,\ 00,00,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,\ 74,00,5c,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,70,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,69,00,6e,00,69,\ 00,74,00,2e,00,54,00,4d,00,50,00,00,00,00,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,\ 3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,\ 00,6d,00,5c,00,41,00,44,00,50,00,36,00,2e,00,54,00,4d,00,50,00,00,00,21,00,\ 5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,\ 00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,61,00,73,00,\ 70,00,69,00,2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,00,00,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,\ 00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,\ 6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,64,00,72,00,69,00,76,00,65,00,72,00,73,00,5c,00,41,\ 00,44,00,50,00,34,00,2e,00,54,00,4d,00,50,00,00,00,21,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,\ 5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,\ 00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,64,00,72,00,69,00,76,00,65,00,72,00,\ 73,00,5c,00,61,00,73,00,70,00,69,00,33,00,32,00,2e,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,00,\ 00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,\ 5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,5c,00,41,00,44,00,50,00,38,00,2e,\ 00,54,00,4d,00,50,00,00,00,21,00,5c,00,3f,00,3f,00,5c,00,63,00,3a,00,5c,00,\ 77,00,69,00,6e,00,6e,00,74,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,5c,\ 00,77,00,6f,00,77,00,70,00,6f,00,73,00,74,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,00,00,\ 00,00 Now you can install that adaptec software, be sure if is the EZCD 3.5b or earlier to upgrade to 3.5c BEFORE making a reboot as the install program asks, say no !!!.
