Do a search on this forum about that topic..it has been discussed in great detail. [This message has been edited by Wolf (edited 06 July 2000).]

Look for them BEFORE you click ok on the error warning window. Look for them while that window is still active, otherwise it deletes the temp files once you close the window.

Will Win2k Gameplay always be slower?

If I can get a game to run in Win2k, 99% of the time it runs better. Less hits to the HD and decent FPS from some admittedly bad beta drivers from ATI. [This message has been edited by Wolf (edited 13 June 2000).] [This message has been edited by Wolf (edited 13 June 2000).]

Dual boot help needed plz

Thanks for the info, nova. I don't think I really need to mess with it, anyway. I only boot into 98 for some older games I still run, so the drive letter difference is no big deal, since I just run the games from the C: drive. Thanks again, though!!

Dual boot help needed plz

nova...you are the man... Quick question..I'm sure you've covered this, but here goes... I had Win2k installed on my C:. I set up a partition so I could dual boot win98. Install went fine, etc etc.. works great.. now.. In win2k the partition is assigned drive letter f:, in win 98 it is d:.. how can I make these match? Run PM5.0 from the 98 side and give that letter to the partition on the 98 side?

SHS, those are HACKS, not the released version of the game. Ok, fine Duke had strippers. Wow. Grainy SVGA pixels...the end of civilization as we know it. Ya know... You people complain about "[censored] in games" like it's the worst cause you can find to speak out against. If you are a resonsible parent, you can take every precaution to keep stuff like this away from your children. If it's your own distaste for this content, again.... DON'T PLAY IT! Buncha damn thin skinned conservatives... Jbrave, you are right that it is easy, too easy, for kids to run into this content. There again, a RESPONSIBLE parent won't use a TV or computer as a babysitter. Last time I checked, there were untold things that could hurt, or corrupt a child, most of which would be here regardless of the internet or not. It has always been the parents JOB to make sure that they raise their kids right, and learn right from wrong. If people start blaming the negative influences, it usually means they're too damn lazy to guard their kids from it. If you take one negative influence away, there are plenty more to take its place. However, if you raise that kid right, they can avoid those influences on their own or deal with them in a positive way. Basically, all the negative things in the world are no match for good parenting. So go on, keep *****ing about trivial things like this... it just doesn't matter. [This message has been edited by Wolf (edited 31 May 2000).]

While I respect your opinion, I will say this. No one forces you to play anything you don't want to. If you don't like a games content, don't buy or play it. [This message has been edited by Wolf (edited 30 May 2000).]

Ok, the b3RC1 means either Beta 3 or Release Candidate 1. If you have a legal, retail Win2k CD you're fine. Now as for the ini file... heres what the fix said -fY:\SETUP.INS -z1 -cx -xC:\nfshsdir -x1"Y:\" -q10009 heres what you said you typed -fD:\SETUP.INS -z1 -cx -xC:\nfshsdir -x1 D:\ -q10009 Only difference I see is you don't have any quotation marks after your -x1 argument. Try this... it may or may not help.. -fD:\SETUP.INS -z1 -cx -xC:\nfshsdir -x1"D:\" -q10009 Again, I wasn't trying to be rude, I was still half asleep. That is as plain as that can be. Do you know how to copy files? Can you create files? I'm not trying to be rude, but what good is telling you the same thing again going to do if you don't know how to do it?
20. Hey, I have Win2k, and I'm using a Dial-Up connection to connect to the net. I noticed an option in the properties for my connection that say "Redial if line dropped" or something like that. I have it set to do that, yet whenever I get disconnected, it will not redial. Anyone else get this to work? If I use Getright it will, but I don't always use it. I need this question answered for times I'm not pulling down large files.. Thanks in Advance..

gravis gamepad pro

Go to Gravis' site, and go to the developers section..oh...wait..here's the link.. BETA Gravis Drivers for WIN2K Supports the following Gravis products: Blackhawk Digital, Xterminator Digital GamePad, GamePad Pro & Xterminator Dual Control Joystick. NOTE: This driver release is beta. Because these drivers have not been through the Microsoft certification process, they are unsigned. This means that the installation process may be more involved than usual, and is to be pursued at your own risk. By downloading these drivers you certify that you understand that Kensington/Gravis and its employees cannot be held responsible for any disruption or damage to your system that this installation may cause. Be warned, these are BUGGY AS HELL. They lock up more than they work. Sure you can get WIN2K to recognize all the buttons, but half the games you try to run with it, crash the OS totally. I usually get a BSOD, citing the ntgrip.sys file as the culprit. Maybe you'll have better luck....But be careful.
