Hi, Can't help you with the controller problem only to say that sharing IRQ is normal for win2k and I doubt that is causing your problem. Try a search within this board to see if anyone else has had similar problems. Event 32003 isn't related to your controller problems, it is just telling you that the PC you are sharing an internet connection with isn't switched on, I get that one all of time. Chris

Installed this onto my w2k system, as it was published on the NT compatible news front page. Doesn't seem to work, all I get is a icon on my taskbar which has a exclamation mark through it. Nothing is accessible through that icon aside from version number, which is garbled anyway. Has anyone had the same experience and managed a work around? If so let me know please. Cheers, Chris

Further to my last posting, put IP Inoculate from Computer Associates back on and InCD stopped working, took off the AV and it was ok again. Seems like this was the original problem in the end...... Chris

Back, did a complete reinstall of my OS in the end, decided not to risk it as I'd had Adaptec software on there. Installed InCD first and this time it informed that I'd no Nero software installed and prompted me for my serial number. Put that in and now all working fine. I have Nero 5.0.4.4, it is an upgrade from a copy that came with my burner, installed but InCd doesn't detect it and I don't get asked for the serial number when I try to install. At what point should it and does the fact that my PC isn't setup to load Nero when it boots up affecting things? Chris

You are wrong, on the Nero's d/load site it does actually say it is win2000 compatible, see http://www.nero.com/en/download.htm it is a new version 2.08 of the software. Chris

Hi, I use the 6.49 Det 3 drivers as all the rest have problems, Unreal runs in openGL mode just fine:- 6.50 cause BOSD's & stop codes on a TNT2. 6.72 won't restore from hibernate correctly. I have read that there isn't any point in using any drivers later than 6.49 anyway as the increases only amount to a few fps's. Chris

Hi, I have exactly the same problem but with playing certain games, ie MSFS200, I found that it was the nvidia's own 6.50 drivers. so I went back to the 6.49's and everything was ok. Also tried the 6.72 but that would come out of hibernate correctly. I would be interested to see what happened to your system BEFORE you put the nvidia's own drivers in there. I have tried with both the CT's liveware3 and their basic drivers and that didn't change anything, I stuck with the basic drivers in the end as I don't need liveware3 and it speeds up my bootup time considerably My own opinion is that it isn't anything to do with your sound card as there is nothing in the stop code that points to a driver.... It runs nicely on my PIII 450mhz, Intel SE440BX-2, TNT2,W2K. But when I press the spacebar my PC reboots itself, any clues as to why that is so? Chris

It would help if you stated exactly what problems you were having.... Mine are that whenever I go to full-screen it re-boots my PC. Chris

I'm using IE 6, version 2411, and it hasn't given me any problems, but then neither has any of the versions on my w2k. I used Opera, once, it wouldn't automatically dial out so it was usless to me. Maybe I am alone in having no problems, but I think not..... Chris

So that proves ACPI is a good thing cos it ruduces the load on the CPU, so why yours is getting hotter is cos it having to do more work now.... What was the problem with IRQ sharing by the way? Chris

Hi, you've not said what kind of modem you are using, some, that use CPU clock cycles and those are called 'software modems',will cause that to happen with your sound. Chris

I do subscribe to the CT SB Live!'s newsgroup and many of the problems that are reported there are due to via chipsets not the card. If there are any that are due to sharing of IRQ's then it is down to the mobo. Chris

Just installed the beta version of this. Have noticed that it loses my icons for some of my fav pages. Aside from that it has a neat display. Anyone else care to comment? Chris

Hi Galilee, if you make your changes to your taskbars, then goto 'view','toolbars' and tick lock toolbar. If it is already ticked then untick it first then make your changes and then re-tick it. Yes it does stop you from getting onto update cos it is for IE 5.0 only. Once IE 6.0 is released then it will be ok. Chris

I can understand the adminstrators point, but I took their lead from the Games message forum. There is a post in there that has a direct link to a beta download which goes to MS. If they wish to make a point then at least have some consistancy please.
