I take it this benchmarking program does not work under NT4 as it asks for DX7, right.....?

Sorry to post such a dumb question but I've been too chicken to hack the DX settings on my NT4 machine up to now, but I'm getting sick of crappy framerates under OpenGL. Could someone post a link to a site that will help me get the right files and then tell me what to do with them to get better than DX3 or whatever I have at the moment. Thanks PII 350MHz 192Mb RAM Matrok G400Max 32Mb

This site is still called NT compatible, but all the new harware / games / apps are only listed with W2K compatibility. What about those of us still using NT4? We would quite like to know if a game runs under NT, you know. Given the DirectX functionality of W2K, it is not surprising that so much does work OK. The situation with NT is still difficult. How about people trying to post both pieces of information - W2K and NT compatibility?

Read the manual.... The virtual desktop allows you to specify a...er.....well, virtual desktop! Imagine your desktop is not just the size of your monitor but taller, or wider or just bigger in every way! You can set all these in the Virtual desktop settings via the software in the tray. You then scroll around the desktop like you would in a strategy game. I don't use it personally as you kind of get used to seeing a sreenful of stuff and knowing where everything is, but I guess it might be useful if you're a graphic designer or one of those untidy people that keep everything on the desktop....!

Does it run under NT then???? Anyone had success. I have read all the postings about issues under W2K but wondered if it is officially supported under NT4 too.

Can anyone advise me as to the best configuration for UT with a G400Max under NT4? I have 192Mb RAM, SP5, plenty of hard disk, 4.13patch on UT, latest drivers from Matrox. D3D and OpenGL both seem choppy to me. Only Software mode is detected on startup and it is the only mode that really runs smoothly fullscreen. Am I missing something??
