I was just at the Microsoft site and was reading information, about upgrading NT 4.0 too 2000. Is it advisable to do it this way or go for the clean install. Has anyone used this method, and had sucess. Thanks

LOL yes your right..that is quite a delay. But If I had of installed it back then I,m sure I would have 3 times the posts that I have now. I was hoping I could install over top of the existing OS and it would be just as good as the clean install. I'll stay with 4.0 until i finish CO OP

C:\PROGRA~1\Plus!\MICROS~1\Connection Wizard\ICWCONN2.EXE" cannot access a necessary file, "rasapi32.dll." This is what Norton says has to be done to fix it. rasapi32.dill might be located on a removable drive. A non-visible volume such as an NTSF drive or on a network. If c:\progra~1 plus!\micros~1\connection wizard\icwconn2.exe cannot find the file you might need to reinstall c:\progra~1\plus\micros~1 connection wizzard\icwconn2.exe. Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix it...please keep it simple. Thanks PS. i do have the dill it's requesting but that dosen't seem to help.

Now I need this dill.....kzprojectstore.dill I needed 4 dills all together. This is numder 3...but a tough one to find..any ideas. This one goes in c: winnt system 32\kzservice.dll I can hardly wait until I find out what the 4th is. Thanks

Ok guys. I moved the file into the c:\program 1\plus\micros 1 connection wizzard\icwconn2.exe folder. but still get the warning..I don't get it. Thought that would have solved the problem.

To tell you the truth I have no idea what triggered it, or how the file got deleated. I'm sure it's the right version clutch, but when I tried to put it in the NT system dill folder (as was suggested by someone else) I got a mean looking warning so I took it back out. All my programs seem to work, but the warning keeps comming up. Also I was working on one of my CAD programs, and twice I had a memory dump. so I'm wondering if this missing file could be causing that. AS far as A ANC C....Clutch I have no idea what your saying sorry haha don't know alot about computers. Cheers

Can anyone tell me where I can get this file. rasapi32.dill When I boot my system up it gives me a warning that im missing a c program file..when I ran Norton windows doctor,it says Im missing the above file...and it cant repaire it. Im very carfull about what I deleat, so Im not sure how it went missing. Everything seems to be working ok it's just bothers me everytime it pops up. Thanks Regards Joe

hahah Brian I delaeted Norton Utilities hoping that would get rid of that blasted warning that keeps poping up(as mentoned below), but it's still there. I have no plans on re installing it eather, I find my system is running faster with out it. I just bought it for the de frag, but have downloaded the free version of disk keeper instead. Cheers

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0x801afcb2, 0x00000000, 0x5258559c). Microsoft Windows NT [v15.1381]. A full dump was not saved. EVENT ID...1000 Can anyone help me with this...I just started having these memory dumps..and this is the info that is in the event viewer...do this make sence to anyone. Thanks for any help Cheers

Yes it is win doctor that in using Bladerunner...and I tried to do what you sugested but it won't give me the option of deleating it.It says I should reinstall the software with the missing file. so I did..I belive you said it came from MSN..but after reinstalling MSN the warning still comes up. Apon rebooting my computer this morning I found I have a missing C:\program file....or one of its libraries..thats all it says Everything seems to work fine..all I did was delaet some usless software that I downloaded from the internet. I have sice reistalled the software..but the warning is still there. NT 4.0 SP 6A Thanks for any help Cheers

Exelent idea Clutch. I forgot about that free software that solid edge is offering. It's the most generouse free software package out there. I will be using Solid Edge V9 when I return to school, I'm hoping to score a copy of it so I can do my assignments at home and also speed up the learning process. HOPE MY CONTACT PULS THROUGH CadKey still has a lot of bang for the buck in my opinion. Cheers

Ummm you didn't mention how much you were willing to spend. You can get Autocad LT which is a scaled down version of Autocad 2000. Is this a one time thing that after a month you woun't use it again.....sorry not really sure what your looking for. Cadkey is very simple to use, you can bye a book on it a learn it yourself. DO YOU NEED TO DO 3D SOLIDS??? Please post how much your willing to spend and how long you wil need it for. I have used lots of different Cad software myself. Need a little more info thanks
