Wait! I have the exact same card as you. A viper 770 and use w2k. I have no problems at all. Don't give up yet, I'll help you more when I get home as I'm in a rush. Take care - Card -

Hello sir. You can not go wrong with the Adrian Rojak Pot Bios Optimisation guide. It is updated regularly and I have found it to be close to 100% accurate. Check it out h e r e happy tweaking. Remember to breathe, - Card.

No Idea really. Perhaps it is the bios's recognition of the hdd. Is it set to LBA? It should be. If you used a third party disk partitioning program like seagates you may have had problems. I don't know, creating partitions is a really iffy area. There is quite a lot that can go wrong. I just follow a standard procedure myself and have never had any problems. Actually, I lie. I have had problems going from NTFS back to FAT(32).

Hi all. Just a post to ask about peoples opinions of mouse pads. I use a Microsoft intellimouse explorer USB and originally used it on a 3M precise mousing surface. That began to die so instead of replacing it (5th time) ;( I decided to invest in a decent mouse pad. Being a gamer of sorts I wanted one that performed well. So I forked out $25 Australian for an Everglide Giganta pad which looked great. But unfortunately, does not work at all with Optical mice. So I used my desk for a while and found out that doing that can quickly wear down the little plastic feet at the bottom of the mouse. Recently I just purchased another everglide pad, designed for optical mice and am now using a clever little thing called Mouse Skates. Anyway, I just wanted to say that this is the most orgasmic experience with a mouse I have ever encountered. Has anyone ever used any other pad? Apparently the Icemat and the fUnc 1030 are good also. Cheers, Cardinal.

lol well done Now if only they sold turtle beach sound cards here.

Enforcer. Alerter and Computer browser are services that run only if you a part of a network. Don't worry about them. As for the second problem, I'm sure I could help if I understood you. I don't really get your question. Sorry. Remember to breath, Card.

Ok. Sounds like problems. It's best to start again. It's easier to format a drive to fat 32 first and let Win2k convert it to NTFS. I suggest you boot from a Windows98/ME start up floppy. Run fdisk and start again. Try and get Partition magic 6.1 It has better NTFS support. I used 6 and had problems. "I know the pieces fit because I watched them fall away" Sometimes I feel like Harry Manback.

Tiny Wiz. I had the exact same problem with my last drive right before it died. I did a scan disk, found no bad sectors it just happened repeatedly. Eventually the hard drive would not boot up at all. Good luck. - Card.

Wow. This is an issue I am interested in myself. I have three friends who have purchased an IBM drive made from Holland. All of these owners have experiences blue screens. System halts, and lock ups when running scan disk or defrag. Is it possible that some drives can be manufactured badly? By doing a search on google I noticed it's become common. Especially with a batch of IBM drives. Your problem is the drive I am almost certain of it. Try to persist as the people I mentioned are now experiencing these problems less frequently. I have lost 5 drives in my time. Not one of them was from bad sectors but in fact a mechanical failure. The arm drops and is unable to read the disk. I have lost 2 fujitsu drives. 2 Quantums and 1 Western digital. All from mechanical failure. I am now using a Seagate.

Heh. I am there. Goodbye Creative you sons of *****es.

Woops. Tiny Wiz, welcome to the NT forums I noticed you are new And thanks for the reply also. I now need to find these drivers. - Card

Rgodart, where can I get these beta drivers? And my board comes with a hpt 370 controller on board not the 366. It is strange because the manual says it is a 366.
-
Yes and Yes. I am convinced it is a new hard drive problem. So new hard drives have teething problems. I guess it makes sense.

I accidently clicked new thread instead of reply Please delete it. Thanks.

My own version of the Creative FAQ. "Is there any way to stop the crackling and other sound problems I get with my Sblive and Windows 2000?" No. We at Creative are aware of the problems the sblive card has under Windows 2000 but do not plan on correcting this. "Is liveware 4 ever going to be released?" Perhaps but not any time soon. We are putting 99% of our resources into new product development. We have never provided quality drivers in the past and do not plan on doing so. -----------------------------
-
Sorry. That’s incorrect. Service Pack 2 Does NOT fix the sound problems with Windows 2000 and the SBlive. Only half decent drivers from creative could fix that. And since that will never happen the only solution is dump W2k or, the better option, buy another sound card and never touch another useless fuking product from creative again. Creative, pfft. What the hell did they ever create apart from crap products followed by even worse customer service? If you go here you will notice in the polls that I am not the only person who feels this way about Creative. I personally will boycott any product those devilish bastards ever make any again. Can you believe those defensive cretins are still using the argument 'Win2k is not a gaming OS and should not be used as such' as an excuse for bad drivers. Someone should shove a WinXP beta cd up their proverbial *** and let them know it will be based on the same code as W2k. I would love to see Microsoft dump support for any creative product.

I'm about to try them. I'll post and let you know.

Hi. Are you saying, when you open up a word Document or any file?
-
Have you enabled 'email web content in folders' In the folder options? If you have and it does not work it also could be your file associations. Give mp3's back to Windows Media Player. I had IE6 and it worked for me. [size:9]damn auto sig [/color]

What version is it?

Wait a sec. I have Easy Cd Creator 5 Platinum and it is the final. I can install 5.1 On it perfectly. Miku, you do know though that Roxio recommend not installing Take Two in Windows 2000 as it WILL destroy your installation. The program works fine for me. I'm not saying it is good however.
-
Is there a setup switch that could perhaps bypass the 'eject cd' prompt? That is, is there a way of overiding that by a particular syntax? I am asking more then answering. Perhaps someone will know.
-
No don't do that. Windows 2000 is not supported by the APS live drivers. Your life will end if you try to install these in w2k. Trust me.

I use this program also *ducks in case someone throws something* and carefully ignored the message. No errors thus far. I also use Diskeeper when I am going to be away from my computer for a month (as that is how long it takes to defrag my hdd) Actually while I'm here, what a $hitty program Diskeeper is. I mean it literally takes 3+ hours to defrag my drive and I only have 4 gig of data on it. What makes it worse, it still says file fragmentation is averaging 2% percent after it's done. As much as people bag Norton or anything they produce, surely you can't say Diskeeper is a wonderful program either. hey Psycho I noticed in your sig you say Asus sucks. I've never heard anyone say that. Whats that about? Card.
