Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager I get these two at boot up. It makes my computer seem frozen, takes about 15 seconds for it to actually boot into windows. Event Category: None Event ID: 7024 Date: 6/24/2000 Time: 9:47:14 PM User: N/A Computer: SPRINGER Description: The Messenger service terminated with service-specific error 1066. Event Type: Error Event Source: SENS Event Category: None Event ID: 0 Date: 6/24/2000 Time: 9:47:05 PM User: N/A Computer: SPRINGER Description: The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( SENS ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: Event System Win32 Error: No service is operating at the destination network endpoint on the remote system. , ServiceMain(): RegisterDeviceNotification() failed. These are the two I get. I just formatted and reinstalled windows, haven't done any tweaking yet.

Yes currently i'am getting this problem. I installed drivers for my tnt2, then uninstalled them, and installed older drivers, but during the uninstall it didn't remove those files, so now filemon is showing my tnt2 accessing files from two different files. I also have a event error which is winspool.exe, this causes my system to lag 15 seconds when im in windows. Philip

Does anyone know when they are going to fix quake3, is it a driver issue? or is it quake3 issue? What causes the darkness in quake3. Right now i play on vertex, but i rather play in lightmap and see the game the same way i saw it when i was using win98 se.

I am wondering if any of the new patches fixed quake3, its so dark in win2k for me.

to my knowledge your windows 2000 is set to reboot when it gets a BSOD (blue screen of death), if you right click on My Computer > properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery. Then check to see if Automatically Reboot is checked or not. As for the BSOD, you prob just need to reinstall the detonator 5.16 drivers, thats how i fixed mine. Hope this helps.

I have that same problem, I just change my video settings, then quit quake, and start it up again. Funny thing is it happened to me once i upgraded to 5.17 drivers, so i went back to 5.16 and still happening.

Just search for 'Internet Sharing Connection' in the Win2k help file, surpirsingly enough the win2k help file is actually useful and help me set it up. you need to change some settings in internet options in ie, and also for each program you gotta make a service so its internet sharable.
