I realized the game is pretty easily playable with the keyboard so I didn't make any changes. I would rather use the controller and I'm alot better with it but it's easy enough without. Hopefully Gravis will pull their heads out of their asses and make some drivers that actually work with windows 2000 soon. Pfff Ya right. Thanks anyway everybody for the input.

Hey how propritary are Sony VAIO PC's?expecially this one http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/products/pc/tower/pcvl640.html It's really slim and compact but would I have to go through sony to upgrade the memory or Processor? Or can I go through anyone to do that? And if I want to upgrade the mother board could I get one from them or I have to buy a hole new VIO PC and sell that one to upgrade the mother board? And if a cdrom drive fails and it's no longer under warenty can I buy another one sepratly from them? Basically is what I'm asking is can I buy individual parts from them to maintain the computer? Because I know to make it so small all the parts are made by them to keep the size down. Any input is apreciated.

Thanks you did help. I would really love that pretty looking computer but I demand a computer I can upgrade affordably. So I guess I'll just upgrade the one I got. Thanks again.

It don't matter if I use Fat32 temporarly I only need a dual boot because Gravis don't think they need to make working drivers for windows 2000 they released some but it blue screens everytime I play. They released a driver in april and then one in may but they both stink they haven't released anything since. So dual boot will have to be a work around untill I can get some USB ports which would require a new main board or gravis decides to release some drivers that actually work. Everything else runs great in windows 2000 though.

I have a small problem when I have sound or play music of any kind I hear crackling and breakups all the time in games, playing MP3's, Cd music any sound does it and it's expecially more intense when the CPU or hardrive is thinking, after a few hours it actually gives me a small headache. When I have the basic drivers installed it don't do it but I want all the features that come with live! ware I am currently back to windows 98 It comes with more Live!ware features but I've already had as many lockups and blue screens in the last 2 days as I ever had with windows 2000. This sucks! Anyone else have this problem? I did have Direct X 8 beta installed I hope that didn't have any effect. If everyones having these problems I won't worry about it I'll just wait for an update from Creative but if I'm like the only one then please tell me what's up. P.S I have the live! ware drivers for windows 2000 from the CD installed I didn't download it. Thanks for everyones help.

I downloaded and installed the 1.2 patch and it works. finally! I can play HH again. but I have to put the CD in every single time I want to play I hate that! Anyone know where I can get a cracked EXE for High heat 1.2?

Alright I did something very interesting last month when I downloaded the crack I uploaded it to my other Free drive account that I thought I lost the password to, I think I did it for turds and giggles but thank goodness I did. I don't remember the site I got it from so I took the time to upload it onto a freedrive account for your downloading pleasure. You have to sign up to freedrive to download it sorry bout that I don't know of any other places to upload it to. I disabled UDMA in my bios and it cleared the problem right up. I only get crackling now when my CPU thinks extremely hard and even then it's minimal. It's nice now not having to question having Windows 2000.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with DX 8 because I formated and reinstalled without dx 8. The basic drivers still do it but it's not as noticable because when I hae the arena invironment on it crackles during the echo and it echos the crackling. I went to the creative newsgroup and it seems alot of people are having problems with the Via chipset which is what I have on either OS's but what's strange about that is that it don't do it on 98 which points towards driver problems.

let me back track a sec, it still crackles even with the the basic drivers installed.

I'm about to buy Sound blaster Live! Xgamer tomorrow and was wondering if it's actually recommended for Windows 2000? I heard bad things with their new Live Ware for windows 2000 drivers. And is it worth the extra $100 to get SB Live! platinum instead or would I notice that big of a difference?

Ya I only had a 100 bucks so I had to settle for X-gamer. I went to the creative sight and checked out some 4 point speakers I was drooling all over the keyboard. %150-$200 though it's going to be awhile before I save that up.

Yes it came on it's own CD that said "Live!Ware for windows 2000 CD". And on the Box it even says it works with windows 95,98,NT & 2000 In big letters. [This message has been edited by JBrave715 (edited 09 June 2000).]

Well I bought the X-Gamer it's kick ass so far . There was a CD that came with the Live!Ware for windows 2000 drives so I didn't have to download a thing. I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase.

Oh, And where can I download Direct x 8.0?

Actually most of it is advertising with a chick with half her boobs hanging out. Like in EGM for example on page 59 this month they advertise a product called game shark with two women in leather one squated down with her boobs hanging out and the other one wearing very little of anything. You can try to downsize nudity and profanity all you want but kids will see it and don't think for a second they don't understand it. And with the internet and countless millions of unrated websites out there it's very easy to run into a sight with nudity and alot of them with hardcore nudity in there advertisements and popups.
