In certain games, when I run them, I just get a black screen. It's happened ever since I upgraded the drivers for my Asus 6800 Deluxe to the 3.79 Final drivers from the 3.75. I don't have the 3.75 drivers anymore. I've tried various versions of the Nvidia reference drivers all to no avail. Anyone know what might be causing this? FPS games are running fine (Q3A, HL) but other games are not (practically every non-FPS game I have). My machine is a Celeron 300A @ 464mhz BX6-R2 motherboard 128MB RAM Asus 6800 Deluxe Geforce vid-card [This message has been edited by WyldKard (edited 02 June 2000).]

Found a solution: Reformat, and install
-
A link to the Redemption support page can be found over at http://www.planetvampire.com There's a method of copying the CD contents to a directory and installing out of that. I've heard people trying that, and being able to get around the "crash on install" problems.

Anyone know where I can get them, or anyone willing to send them to me?

The 3.75 drivers are the only ones that worked for me in most of my games. All other drivers (from Asus or Nvidia) won't let me play any D3D titles. In fact, all I can play right now is FPS games (running in OpenGL). That's seriously aggravating. I've checked the Asus site numerous times, and they only have the newer drivers available for Win2k. (That link is broken right now, BTW). Can anyone help me out?

A friend of mine ran into this problem. After reading through the readme and contacting the company, he told me that the game is optimized to run on Intel hardware, and that AMD hardware was not officially supported. They are aware of these problems, but whether they are attempting to fix them, I don't know. I've got a Win2k machine on a Celeron 300a@464, and my install went fine. I can't run the game, though, because of my vide-card. I need the 3.75 GeForce drivers, darnit! [This message has been edited by WyldKard (edited 08 June 2000).]

Flash the card to the latest BIOS version.

There are hacked drivers available at http://www.3dfx.com

No, I haven't been able to find a site that has them still. If anyone knows where I might be able to find them (or would be willing to send them to me), I'd greatly appreciate it. ICQ: 682006

I ran the dxdiag utility and it said everything was working fine. The only issue it reported was that my main display driver (nv4_disp.dll) is uncertified by MS. How do I uninstall and reinstall DirectX under Win2k? I thought you couldn't do that... Edit: Under the display tab, under DirectX features, it says that Direct3D Acceleration is not available. Might that be my problem? How cna I fix this? AGP TExture Acceleration is also not available... [This message has been edited by WyldKard (edited 02 June 2000).]
