Hi. I'm having some major problems with my CD-R/RW unit, a Samsung SW-408B . It doesn't support Burn-Proof technology, but even when i have about 220 mb's of RAM free, and I do nothing else at the same time, I will get buffer underruns. One of three cd's I try to burn get ruined because of this, so I'm loosing money cause of it . I'm using Nero in WinXP mainly, but I have the same problem with CDRWin. Does anyone know what I can do to prevent this from happeing? At least a little bit.. Thanks.

I have a really weird problem with WinXP, and I have no idea how it has arisen. The problem is, my StartUp folder in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders is set to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" but it should be my user name, Cerbero, instead of All Users. When I change it, it changes back to the faulty path when I log off and then back on. This wouldn't be a problem if I were the only one who used the computer, then I would have all the startup items in the All Users folder anyway, but now I need some apps to start only when I log on, for example an FTPd and such. Does anyone know how I can remedy this? I've tried changing with both Regedit and TweakUI for XP. Thanks [EDIT] Never mind.. It works now for some reason, after a couple of tries..

Quote: vmware doesn't support emm386 properly, it only work with the /noems switch. Is the /noems switch for VMware or DOTT? Also, please help me with the sound anyone?

I tried with VMWare, but that resulted in more problems See http://www.ntcompatible.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=20217

Hey. I just installed VMWare evaluation, just to be able to play Day of the Tentacle. But I have a problem. I have gotten the sound to work on the virtual machine, which runs Win98 SE, but in DOTT, it doesn't work. According to VMware, the virtual sound card on the guest system has the address 0x220 and the IRQ 7. When I enter those settings in the DOTT configuration, I still don't get any sound. Also, DOTT says "Warning: EMS detects less than 2 megabytes", and thus the game runs kinda slow. A way to fix that would be very good too, but most of all, I just want sound. Thanks.

I borrowed the cd version from a friend of mine. Uncracked. And I still got the same result.. (Computer freezing up entirely).. Dunno what it is. I figured I could run it on my router can (a 486 33mhz), but it was too slow to run under Win98.. The speech stopped after about ½ a second every time someone said something.. Gonna try installing Win98 on a 200mhz now, and see how that goes As you can tell, i'm desperate

Hm.. Didn't work.. I still get the same problem.. With the screen just going black. I don't have to restart now though, I can close the dos session. I'm gonna try with another version later though, so I'll get back to ya

I've tried it and it didn't work. I'm pretty sure the compability setting doesn't do anything for DOS games though.

Please anyone. This is like my favotire game of all time, so I really wanna get it working I'm too lazy to dual boot though, I gotta get it working in XP...

Hey I'm wondering how to get this game working in XP.. When I start the .exe I get the menu just as it should be (with the choice to set sound options or play the game). When I choose the Play choice, my screen goes black and the computer stops responding completely, and I have to restart. I have tried to both set audio options, and to play without but it's the same result for both. If anyone's gotten it working, please tell me how =)

Hey, dunno if this is the right forum, but I'll give it a try at least. I'm having some problems with TvTool 5.5.2 on Windows XP Pro, using a nVidia GeForce 2 mx card with the CH700x TV chip. The problem is, I want to play an interlaced DVD on my tv, but I can't enable the "Non-Interlace" option in TvTool, since it's greyed out. Does anyone know why I get that, and/or how to fix it? Thanks.

Hey. I tried the site that was listed in NTCompatible's news, where there were a tutorial for making WinXP logon screens. The URL was http://www.angelfire.com/ab6/logonxp/tutorial.html The site isn't there anymore though. Angelfire probably removed it when it started getting alot of hits... Anyway, does anyone have it saved, or some other tutorial for this? Thanks alot.
