Actually ME comes with DX7.1 not 7.0a, I remember seeing the installation file for 7.1 floating around teh web. Try checking some of the ME websites for it, also look on your ME CD. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

checkout 3D Chipset and check out the links to the NVidia drivers. I use that site all the time, good luck in your quest for 4x. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

Well were you able to get 4x with the 5.32 det 2's, or even the last 3.xx det 1's. The reason I ask is because the TNT2s do not utilize all the features of the Det 3's. I use the 5.32 drivers on a second PC which has a V770 Ultra in it and everything works well. I did not notice any real improvement when I installed det 3's on it so I went back to the 5.32 driver. Also take into account that I do not notice any significant performance increase when running the card at 4x, probably due to the fact that it was developed prior to the release of any 4x mobos. I do understand however the desire to run it at 4x, you bought a card that "supposedly" supports 4x then you should be able to get 4x. I will ask around see if I can find anything out that may be of some use to you. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

SHS cool then I guess we should see them in stores shortly in about a month or so. I am looking forward to upgrading my Live!MP3 to a Live!Platinum 5.1 /w Live!Drive ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

Possibly sooner with the recent release of the 5.1 series of Live! cards. Wouldn't it be nice if we got them by the end of October, but I am not holding my breath. I don't have any issues with LW3 but I know that there are quite a few out there that do. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

Could be a problem with Fast Writes, check to see if you have them enabled in your BIOS. You can also use a program such as PowerStrip to see if they are actually enabled in the OS. If they are enabled then try disabling them and run some tests. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude! I had same problem on my Gladiac GeForce 2 GTS. Until I installed the recently "leaked" 6.31 det's. I have a Athlon 1GHz on the KA7-100 mobo, now I get AGP4x stable without any reg hack. BTW the 6.18 disable 4x on Athlon/Duron mobos even if you try the 4x reg hack. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

you might try upgrading the firmware. Just a thought I had a similar problem but with a different drive and that fixed it you can go to this page and grab the drive info prog to see what firmware you are running. The Firmware Page is another useful site and here is the link to Pioneer's official page. Hope that helps you out some, please let me know if it does. Side note be careful about up[censored] firmware on that drive it is one that will not let you go back to a previous version. ------------------ Jim "KDawg" Komkov Co-Founder / Admin / Beer Drinking Redneck The Wulfpac ShinerRedneck : Drunk with Attitude!

How am i suppose to know if my win2k has udma66 enabeled?

Thanks for the info, although I did notice increased throughput on my KX133 mobo after enabling the reg entry. Not sure why could just be related to something else but again thanks for pointing that out. -

Actually that just shows UDMA enabled/disabled, in order to enable UDMA66 you must apply a registry hack... to enable UDMA66 : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000] "EnableUDMA66"=dword:00000001 to set back to default: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000] "EnableUDMA66"=dword:00000000 you can also grab premade reg hacks that you can easily merge over at http://www.tweak3d.net they have quite a few Win2k tweak guides. -
To answer your question about the V770Ultra registering as a TNT2 when using refernce drivers, Diamond strayed away from the nVidia reference design when making the board. They ID'd the chip 028(ID for TNT2) instead of 029(ID for TNT2U) like every other TNT2Ultra card maker out there. As far as which driver to use I have tried both and have not noticed any difference in performance.

You can't install DirectX 7.0a under 2k, you will have to wait for DX8 later this summer. The only other real alternative is to have a dual boot system or just live without certain games and deal with poor DirectInput support (ala sticky keys and mouse button lag).

here is a step by step resolution to the IRQ routing prob: 1. Disable P&P OS and ACPI in BIOS, if you can - if the option is not available try installing the latest BIOS update for your motherboard. 2. Reboot. Go to Control Panel - Hardware and double click on My Computer in the hardware manager. 3. You'll see ACPI - get into its properties and click to install another driver. When prompted, look under the Microsoft section and install the "Standard PC" driver. 4. Reboot. At this point Win2k will try and reinstall all devices on your system so install any drivers you are prompted for (have them all handy) and reboot. Finalise any drivers you may be prompted for on the 2nd boot and reboot again. 5. With all your drivers re-installed, take a look in hardware manager - and every device should have its own IRQ. Hope that helps you out... Jim "KDawg" Komkov
