Hey, I'll get right to the point. I don't get straight black on my monitor. It's a slight green. I can not find the place to change the color settings anywhere! My DVD software shows my monitor set at R 0 G 40 B 0 (it only shows, doesn't change). I'm using Nvidia Geforce2 on XP Pro on a PIII 933. I can't find the setting to change anywhere in the display properties or on the monitor settings. Like most Nvidia users, "Default Monitor" is installed ... grrrr. Someone please help! Oh, on a side note ... I've been meaning to post about this too. I can't stop the "My Documents" folder from opening up on screen on startup. I've checked everywhere from the registry, ini files, msconfig, whatever! Any ideas would be very useful! Thanks everyone for your help and comments!!! ~TB

I was SHOCKED when I saw the drivers got released!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE CREATIVE EVEN ATTEMPTED ANYTHING! I was quick to download and install ... personally, I'm quite happy with them! They run fine now ... I've tested out my DVDs, and I'm running my 5.1 Surround and the quality is alright (not the sharpest, but hey, it WORKS!) ~TB

Also tried fiddling with Napster, but I guess that's not even working, lol ... so that won't work ... I set up HTTPort on another computer on the network and used Napigator to activly select which server I wanted to connect to ... if there's a napigator-type program out there for Morpheus or Kazaa, it wouldn't be difficult, because it'll tell you what the IP and port is of the server. I'll explore using the Active Ports program now with Kazaa and Morpheus ... I'll post if I find anything ... ~TB

Ok ... I'm in the same boat as you truthfully ... Now, I'm no good at this junk either, but I've been figuring out this HTTPort program ... I really don't need this program to work with IRC, but I tested it with it anyways to see if I could actually "tunnel" something, and it worked! If you open the HTTPort proggy up, I'll show you what I did for this ... Under the Proxy tab, I chose a random proxy (since my school doesn't use one either, but you still need one for this proggy) the one I chose was avocado.rsmas.miami.edu port 80 ... then I went to Port Mapping tab and deleted all the junk that came with the program cause I wasn't using any of them, but that was just my choice ... I added a new mapping, titled it IRC ... under local port, I put in 7000, remote host: hecate.ga.us.insiderz.net (just the server i use), and remote port 7000 ... and I checked Run SOCKS server below that ... Now go back to the Proxy tab and click Start on the bottom right ... Go into your IRC proggy (I use mIRC) ... I went under the Firewall section of the mIRC setup and checked to use it and send DCCs thru the firewall and set the protocol to SOCKS4 with the hostname being 127.0.0.1 and port 1080 ... Clicked connect to the hecate.ga.us.insiderz.net server, and it went thru ... went back to HTTPort and under the port mapping tab, you can see the lights working ... so it worked ... Now this program will not let you set up an FTP site or anything, still haven't tried "serving" in IRC, don't think it'll work tho ... I'm working on getting the stupid thing to work for KAZAA, nada yet, but we'll see, at least I kinda get the jiff of how to use this by experimenting with IRC ... I can run IRC just fine even without HTTPort, but like I said, trying to figure out how to even use it! I'll keep ya posted if I figure anything else out, as I would hope you did too! ~TB

You know, my roommate had the same problem ... I got him to finally make an administrator account and log into that, and ever since, the problem has disappeared!! Sounds dumb, but try logging in as admin and see if it works! ~TB

Sweet, thanks dude ... just wasn't sure on that one ~TB

Awesome, thanks ... I'll try it, but does having ME on the root affect performance for XP or anything??? Thanks for the help! ~TB
-
Ok ... So now I've made a 1gig partition and put WinME on that partition ... it's in the root of my primary HDD ... that's all working just fine, but now how do I get the dual boot set up? There is no choice to dual boot back into XP now ... do I create my own boot.ini file or what? I checked and it showed my XP on the G drive, lol, but it's still there ... Thanks! ~TB

I had a FAT32 partition on the end of my C drive tho? Also ... if I end up making a FAT32 partition on the root of C, will this mess up XP or anything else? Performance or anything? Thanks ...

Hey, I've been running XP for quite some time and love it dearly ... I just want to install ME to run some tests on both systems real quick ... How can I install it? I've tried creating another partition on the end of my C drive and the beginning of my D drive, but neither work ... It wants to "reconfigure" my NTFS drives before moving on ... do I need to put the partition on the ROOT of C drive for it to install?? If so, does this affect any performance of XP?? Anything else I can do? Thanks! ~TB

Just to let Alec know, I only read the XP board, like he says, and I would've missed that post completely ... I dunno about any other issues you all may have, but what he said about that is true ... Not taking any sides about anything, lol ... -TB -

From what I read, not sure if I'm correct, but what I got out of it is that it's used for when you're browsing the net ... I'm talking about passing thru the firewall that's setup at my school ... An example of one thing I'm trying to do is use RogerWilco, the voice proggy for when you're playin say online games ... I can't use it because they've shut off the ports the proggy needs to run ... any clues as to what I can do? Also, they've blocked the ports that allow people to upload to my ftp ... Thanks -TB -
