  1. Hi All, I'm running a P4 1.7 with 512mb RDRam and 2x 60gb IBM's partitioned as 6x 20gb. Can anyone advise me of the best pagefile settings for this configuration? I've read about 2.5 times the physical memory and prevoulsy when I ran at 2x 60gb partitions i used 2x 512mb Pagefiles (1x 512mb on each physical drive) and it seemed to run pretty well, but now changing the partitions has me scratching my head and not sure how to proceed? Anyone have any ideas? Cheers in advance, Paul.
  2. Greets all, I've got 2x30gb IBM's set-up on a Raid 0 with a 16k block, then formatted into 2x 30gb partitions (1xWinMe (Fat32) 1xWin2k (NTFS)), they were formatted using the format z:32 option for optimal performance. Both OS's run *extremely* well BUT I'm unable to defrag in Win2k using either the built in defrager or using O&O Defrag. The programs are saying unable to defrag over 4k which is a bit of a pisser, does anyone know a way around this without causing me any re-installs or another Win2k defragger that will format 32k blocks? g00ner.

    Upgrade Help?

Greets all, I am currently running a dual PIII 500 rig with 512mb and a Voodoo 3 through Win2K. Everything is running well, but I quite fancy getting a V5 5500 and seeing the FSAA in all it's glory. But is my setup powerfull enough to run 4x FSAA in 800x600 or am I wasting my money? Any help/info would be appreciative. g00ner
  4. I have exactly the same problem, since installing LW3 I have no start up sounds.. I think I did have 'Thunder' sound the first time I rebooted, but after changing the settings in the AudioHQ I no longer have them? A friend has installed it also and he has no problems? Dunno if he's dabbled with AudioHQ though..

    Sp1 Released!

Yep same here, couldn't connect to the net with Zone Alarm installed and SP1 running. I had to uninstall Z/Alarm and reboot before I could connect. I haven't yet tried to re-install it. Everything else *seems* fine with SP1 installed.

    Compressed Folders in Win2k??

Great stuff Rik, Your info was spot on and works a treat Many thanks for the help... g00ner.
  7. Greets All, I read somewhere that it's possible to copy over 3 (I think) files from the compressed folders utility that comes with Plus98 and WinME into Win2k. Does anyone know what the required files are? I know I could use winzip or likewise, but I like this util (as sad as it is!) Regards, g00ner.
