  1. Hi guys, I am having trouble with Counter-Strike. Everytime I try to update the internet servers list just before it finished getting all the server, my internet connection get dropped. Then I would have to restart the computer or reset the DSL modem. I figured that it was the hardware firewall built in my D-Link Router/4-port Switch (DI-704). The only way to fix the problem with Counter-Strike problem is to put my computer's IP in DMZ (Demilitarized Zone which get no Firewall protection). The thing is I only get to put 1 IP address under DMZ list. I have 3 computers hooked up to the D-Link Router/4-port Switch so with my DMZ method, I can fix Counter-Strike problem on one computer and the other 2 computers still have the Update servers list problem in Counter-Strike. Is there a better way to fix this problem?

Here is how I set up my DSL network:

    DSL modem > D-Link Router/4-port Switch > 3 computers

1 Computer is running Win2k Server Edition and other 2 running Win98 SE

  2. Miku, I have same exact system configuration as yours but I have P3-750 and Creative Annihilator2 (Geforce2). I don't get any problems with game until I install Via 4in1 driver. Right now my system is running w/o Via 4in1 driver and it works fine. I am suspecting that it might be the VIA's AGP driver.

  3. Hercules is suppose to be very good but they are really expensive. If I have money, I would go with Geforce2 Ultra 64mb version of Hercules. I am using Creative Annihilator2 (Geforc2) myself since I couldn't afford over $400 for Geforce2 Ultra version.

  4. I have a question. Is Firewall necessary for home users? From what I've been told, you install Firewall for security reason like to keep someone from hacking into your system. I think that a hacker is more likely to hack into some computers in a corporation or something than into a home user. So is it really necessary to install Firewall on home computers? Is there any other benefits to Firewall than the one I listed above?

  5. Here is my sys spec:

    P3-750 w/ AsusP3V4X

    192mb PC-100

    SB Live! X-Gamer

    Creative Annihilator2

    Windows 2000 Server

I am using Detonator 3 6.18 (I have tried all the other version but this one is the most stable for me) and I have applied all the patches released by Microsoft for Win2k.

My problem with NFS 5 is that it plays perfectly fine in single player mode. In Multiplayer game (LAN), it doesn't work. The game would count down "3" "2" "1" and then I would get kick back to desktop and I get this message box "Invalid Object Shape" or something similar to that. Anyone else having this problem or know to fix this problem? Please post it here or e-mail me @:

  6. I have two systems and they almost have same specs:

    System1 (My brother):

    Win2k Prof

    P3-600EB

    256mb PC-1033

    SB Live

IBM 20GB attach to Promise UDMA66 card

    Voodoo3 3000

    Vikings 56k Modem

    RealTek 10mbit Network card

System2 (my system and having problem with NAV 2k):

    P3-750

    192mb PC-100

    SB Live

    Creative Labs Annihilator2 (Geforce2)

IBM 30GB attach to Promise UDMA100 card

    Vikings 56k modem

    3com 10mbit Network card

    Iomega Zip-100 External USB

NAV 2k runs perfectly fine on my brother computer but when I installed it on my computer, just when you click "cancel" for registration (since I already registered b4), it is stuck at that Symantec Norton Antivirus splash screen. It didn't take me back to Windows' desktop like it should. When I press "Alt+Ctrl+Del" to end task, I didn't get Task manager. All I got was just all blue desktop screen without any icons and my computer would freeze. Then I had to press Reset button to restart my computer. Now, what is up with this? Can anyone help me with this problem?
