I have a Epson Stylus Pro, this is a printer for which they will develop no driver for Win2k, but I tried to install the Windows NT driver and now it goes as a breeze....Remember, they named it Windows 2000, but in fact it is Windows NT 5.00.2195!!

I read that both Athlon and Ge-Force are very power consuming alone, well both of them really need a good power supply....But a 300W should do... Bear in mind also that video drivers also from Nvidia behave strangely, search in Games section to find what version is the most stable... No other ideas, sorry!

Without other info, I don't know what to say, except: - Did you make the installation with administrative rights? - What version of Office are you installing? - your computer is a single workstation or in a network?

My experience with winME is rather strange, anyway I've managed it and now I'm satisfied.... Only problems where: -Drivespace 3 doesn't support hard drives anymore;had to reinstall 98, copy all compressed data on an uncompressed drive and reinstall WinME. -Office 2000 Pro first CD gives an error during the second part of install.Installing second CD (Publisher 2000) makes everything allright.

Pass to Nero. It doesn't cost much, and is far better than cd creator.Anyway, I have a 1542CF and a Yamaha 6416S

Maybe it's a limit of the architecture of the cards....ISA cards use a low speed bus, and the system simply cannot follow the entire flow of info at 100 Mbit.... Also keep in mind that the Win2k compatibility with ISA cards is kept as a last chance from Microsoft, they're going to a system architecture ISA-free...

I had a problem like yours, only 2000 server DC in the network (a network that had a DNS implemented), and the problem was resolved making the old DNS server capable of dynamic updates (that where disabled). Anyway, a Server is a machine that has not to be rebooted many times... Another thing...Add RAM! (Now for the laughs....my server is a k6 233 with 96 MB of RAM, and it boots in 2 or 3 minutes.....misteries of life!)

Well, believe it or not, it makes part of the user policies, activated under the Active Directory.... I haven't found them in any other place, but a friend of mine told me he disabled them Manageing the computer, under the storage section, Removable Media, Phisical Location, Drive Properties, and babbled something about enabling libraries and performing inventory on failure.....I didn't understand a word, see if you can catch something out from what I said.

I believe there is no way....In their Wisdom, programmers at Microsoft believe that the most important thing for the users is their Documents, and settled this new directory to be the home of User Profiles also....There was the same problem in WinNT 4, the profiles where stored in the WinNT\Profiles Directory, and no way to change this.... If someone finds a way out, please tell! I believe Muzzy's approach is far more smart and reliable....

You're right CUViper...I'm testing it now and the difference between 64 and 128 MB is awesome.... Moreover, the Server loads many more services in memory, and the management of memory is somewhat different, to manage external users. I had some problems with the DNS server, but they seem resolved at last. It seems to me that browsing is smoother on the server rather than the professional, but it's just an impression...

Maybe u've to download the drivers for your burner...When WinOnCD 3.7 went out, The plextor 12X wasn't available. Don't worry, Driver Upgrades are free on CEQuadrat's main site!

Installed WinME, not a problem...But Apps and Games were on a drivespace volume...and ME does support Drivespace compression only on removable units! Well ok.... Uncompressed everything and begun reinstalling... Only problem was Office 2k! He couldn't finish the installation properly (with first cd).Begun installing the second, and MSI says there is another installation going on! But i begun the install of the publisher cd immediately after reboot!Well ok...he says "old friend, i can manage it, i'll terminate the installation running and begin the new". The second CD installed right........... other progs installed were no problems, they were not with Microsoft Installer......... what to say about this?
