Problems with Norton Internet Security 2001 and Win2K

Uhh.. if you're running windows 2000 professional, then do the following. Shut down all NETBIOS/telnet services (\administrative tools\services\) Don't run ANY ftp/http/telnet STOP running Norton and run ZoneAlarm 1.0 Pro I was running it, but disabled it, since it was interfering with some network functions like cuteftp, even though I set the client to FW PASV mode ;-( Norton Internet Security 2000 seriously sucks bad. Last thing to do, is to keep up with your security updates.

    Anyone tried dx8final + 7.17?

The best combination is the following: DirectX 8 + Nvidia 6.31 Det. 3 drivers w/ Hardware Overclock Patch (available somewhere )

    Mechwarrior 4..

Uhh I've had Mech 4 for a while Fusion98; EXACT same thing happened to me; I dont know HOW I fixed it, but make sure to insert Disc 2 (NOT DISC 1) and DISABLE your internet connection if it's a "pre-release" copy. hehe (big brother is watching) Otherwise, my only other recommendation is update all your software. -sev

    Photoshop 6.0

No, Photoshop 6.0 has run great for me;however, I still like aspects of Photoshop 5.5 more. I personally don't think it's a worthy upgrade

    Unreal Tournament TROUBLE

Crewdawg WHQL means that the drivers are microsoft hardware certified. 6.31 is from nvidia.com. 6.34 are the same drivers, but with microsoft ceritification. I am running the 6.34 drivers; it's the best one right now.

    AOL 6.0 Review

I like AOL 6.0 beta (Sign on aol, keyword BETA to get it) However, be prepared, it does somewhat take over your computer DOwnload regcleaner to clean out some of the "AOL Autostart, and AUtoAIM" files, and always go to keyword "preferences" And make sure everything is set to your needs Anyone else using it?

falcon26 Don't worry. There are neglegable performance hits. You acutally gain a little performance in business apps/desktop performance with windows 2000. If you/anyone are undecided between Win2k & WinMe, read here.. Win2k is the best.. http://www.zdnet.com/special/stories/main/0,11415,2615110,00.html
