DrSchmoe, You ARE missing the point. It lags the system 13 seconds at startup. My way of fixing is PROVEN!!! Just do it man, test it out and if u dont like it, put it back where it was!!!!!!!

Me, I know what it's for.. THIS FILE IS THE PROBLEM FOR THE STARTUP LAG!! But Read below I have a fix for it! (EASY fix!) devldr32.exe IS for sound blaster LIVE! It controls also the LIVE! drive (for platinum owners!) If you disable it, u cant use the live! drive. This is the thing to do. Go to Start, Find.. Search for "devldr32.exe" Drag the file to the desktop. Open the startup folder and stick it in there. Before i did this, I used to have 13 second lag at startup. memory exception errors all over the place.. I uninstalled it.. and everything is back to normal i love 5.0.1!

Ok sorry, heres the full story I had norton 2000 on my comp then i installed the beta. it gave me memory exception errors in and during the virus scan AND the liveupdates.. I had to uninstall it ;(

Application popup: Hotline Client 1.8.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x00458a42" referenced memory at "0x0022c000". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program ------------------------------------------ I get this message often... Prolly with IE 5.5... What's up ?

That's what im waiting for is SP1 for win2000 go to www.download.com search for "IE" and go to "IE 5.5" 50% thumbs down rating... Out of 400 users. Now that's VERY bad!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, I have an Athlon K7 w/ K7M I get that VERY ****ing annoying freezing only in Unreal Tourn. and Diablo II, not quake 3. I know one way of fixing the problem is I went to AMD's site and downloaded "AGP Driver Port Drivers" this helps a LOT. Also get the new beta drivers from nvidia, also be sure u have the latest game patch!!! (diablo II = 1.02) (Unreal Tour.=4.20) Also another thing is to use a program called "RegCleaner" and just eliminate a lot of the startup programs you don't need and stuff the run that you dont need.. I dont play UT all that often anymore so it doesnt bother me as much, but diablo II, errr

I tuned my 800mhz very well (im good at tuning computers to be fast Anyways, mine takes less than 35 seconds to load the desktop complete

I have an extremely powerful computer... 800mhz K7 Athlon Windows 2000 *heavily tuned* (beat a p3 1ghz at startup race. my time was 1/3 his 27 gig ultra dma66 hd 256 goldstar ram 133mhz K7M board Sound blaster LIVE! platinum w/ live! drive. Iomega ZIP drive Smart and Friendly 8x20 CD-R Leadtek Winfast GeForce 256... I have the same 'kind' of problems in Unreal Tournament as well :-\ I think its Liveware. Even the newest one doesnt work good

hey guys, I was wondering if you know how to make "Add Remove Programs" ""Not show hidden software"" The list is tooo damn big and I just want general software. Anyone?

TB, gee i knew that.. the problem is that the Add/Remove programs is showing ALL installation file uninstalls. I DO NOT WANT HIDDEN UNINSTALLS. Theres some way to disable this and put it back to show only visible. Anyone>?

Uhhh 6-8 seconds lag is UNNACEPTABLE to me! I knew i could fix it and I did!(refer to other post!)

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!! I FIXED THE PROBLEM GUYS!! Search for file "devldr32.exe" move it from the system folder to the STARTUP folder. Logoff or restart and BAM! No more lag.. at least for me there isnt!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMMIT i get the sluggest problem too AND my 800mhz K7 Athlon Freezes too Its VERY annoying.. Ahh well waiting for blizzard 1.03 patch
