my setup is exactly like the picture. i have a cable modem that plugs into the host port of my hub, and then the two computers are plugged into ports 1 and 2. i do not have a router. -
this is the setup that i am trying to acheive, except i only have two computers. i understand the risks of sharing files with this setup, but it is all i can afford right now. i need both of these computers to be connected to the internet, and be able to share files also. could someone please help me configure the computers so they are able to do this? they are both running 2k pro currently, and will be running xp shortly. thanks in advance

need an easy way to get filmstrip view in subdirectories
sciguy007 posted a topic in Customization & Tweaking
i am always creating new folders in the My Pictures folder, and i want every folder to be a filmstrip, but i hate having to always go through each one and set the attribute. is there any simple program that can set all subdirectories of the My Pictures folder to a filmstrip? or a simple command i can type? thanks. -
yep, using those too. i found the problem. ctfmon was causing it, but i removed it using the method desribed in microsofts KB. thanks though...

this is the information in the event viewer: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000076 (0x00000000, 0x81c25b98, 0x00000002, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini040202-01.dmp. i have a 2ghz, nvidia geforce3 with detonator 28.32, turtlebeach santa cruz, and was watching a dvd with my realmagic hollywood plus. any idea what this error is?

i got the same exact code using blackice, thats all the help i can offer. i got rid of blackice, and no more blue screens. there is a blackice update though that is supposed to fix the problem.
-
yeah i uninstalled black ice last night and i think i had one blue screen right after that, but since then nothing all day, which is amazing. but if i go to the event viewer everytime i restart it still shows a save dump because of the 0x0a bugcheck. strange.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q165863 this is the knowledge base article on the error. all it says to do is remove new hardware, and/or remove hardware one by one until the problem is gone. all of my hardware is fully xp certified though and came wiht my comp. i also disabled devices and made clean formats and installs of xp. me and my friend have the same exact error at random times. the only things we have in common are that we have pentium 4s, geforce3s and some of the same software and games. blackice may be the problem though as mentioned before, but i still get the system errors on startup. norton doesnt seem to be the problem either.
