    Vampire TMR Win2k Install Problem

Okay- so i followed all the instructions and got a move file error; I still can't get this darn game installed. I really enjoyed the game when I first played it on win98, but now that I'm running a dual processor system I'm not interested in a dual boot system (i paid money for second processor. second processor should always be working hard for that money.). So... What can I do? Is there something else I should try or should I add the Vampire discs to my coaster collection? James

Power doesn't shut off at shutdown

Just doing that won't work; first of all your board has to be ACPI compatible (most newer boards are) and has to be installed as an ACPI compatible kernel; to do that you either have to run setup from within win2k (put the cd and click on install) or do a clean install. If you change it to acpi it'll screw up your system. Hope this helps somebody.

    Direct X

For those of you who desire greater direct input compatibility and trust a Microsoft beta, the beta DX8 distro is available on several websites; I can't remember exactly where, but I've been running it for a little bit and it seems to work okay. Joystick support is indeed better, as less programs have difficulties interacting with the HAL for a Joystick (I had foudn that several games would not even recognize a joystick and now have no such difficulties)
