Arrrgghh! You can't use RC3! The driver doesn't work in the RC-versions of Win2k. You need the final-version!!!! I had this problem half a year ago, couldn't install my drivers, because they need a newer build of Win2k. CU

Everytime when I run Wargasm I get a 640x480 window, no matter what settings I use. It seems as if the Wargasm config utility doesn't work under Win2k. What does the Microsoft compatibility patch do? I ran it, but nothing happened!? My hardware: ABIT BP6 2x CELERON 400 SB LIVE! VIPER II 256 MB RAM HAUPPAUGE WINTV DLINK DFE530TX NIC

P.S: my modem now works perfectly!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I'm waiting for the results... It could also be an IRQ conflict, BUT the guys at S3 support told me that the Viper II doesn't need an IRQ in Win2k. (But DO NOT disable the VGA IRQ in your BIOS, that doesn't work!!! [i tested it, and my system hangs all 10 minutes...]) Maybe an I/O adress conflict? Or just what I had, a bad Win2k installation. CU...

tristan777: Do you have a MPS (MultiProcessorSystem)? If so, there seems to be no fix available. If not, go to news://news.creativelabs.com and check the group: creative.support.sound_blaster.live There are several threads where problems with VIA chipsets (especially the MVP3) are discussed. Maybe there is a solution available for you greetings wildspukie

Hello there, I have the same card too and it works fine under Win2k (except of one or to D3D and OpenGL driver bugs, but they are unimportant, because at S3 they are aware of them and they are fixing their drivers now...) The first thing I need is a little more information about your hardware. Mobo, RAM, other cards and so on... The first time I installd the Viper II Z200 I couldn't install the drivers too until I decided to reinstall Win2k on a clean partition. Then it was no problem to install the drivers. Note that HW TnL is not supported in the current release of the Win2k drivers, but they are working on it (I got this info from support) The drivers are not microsoft cert, but they will work!!!! (They wrote some s*** on their website) I hope I could help you. If I don't answer to any replies please mail me, because I'm not often here...

Oh, I forgot something: the bp6 has an onboard Ultra ATA 66 controller with good drivers for win2k (must be downloaded from the manufacturers website at http://www.highpoint-tech.com)

A very good BX board is ABIT's BP6. It's a socket370 PPGA board, but with an adapter it works fine with all the new FCPGA processors. (my friend uses one with 800 MHz PIII FCPGA, great!!!!!!!) I use the mobo with dual celeron 400, too, win2k, with the newest bios acpi and all the other gizmos are working fine. even if you decide to o/c your cpu and/or chipset (133 MHz) it is stable an works fine.

I wanted to mute the PC Speaker, but as I open the play control I saw that PC Speaker was already muted. Thats not THE solution, but I thougt if I could teach my computer to smoke crack it might help?!

I have the same problems too with my SB Live. The built in drivers work fine, but LiveWare for Win2k (the old and the newer version 3) brings a lot of problems. Crackling sound, with and without EAX. The card is OK, because I tested 3 SB Live cards in my system and I'm sure that all 3 cards are OK (they all work fine in Win98) I don't have a VIA chipset. I have a i440BX and dual processor board (ABIT BP6) Any tips or fixes?

Hello there, the question is whether HW TnL is implemented correctly in the Win2k drivers or not. I don't have a GeForce, but S3 Savage2000 has the same problems.
