how do delete protected windows system files

I dont know if this works in Whistler, but in Windows 2000, when you boot to Safe mode, file protection is turned off, and I am able to delete files from the DllCache folder.
  2. Has anyone been able to get Playcenter 2.0 or Minidisc Center to work with the SB Live 5.1 Platinum? I always get an error with "Mediadet.exe" while installing Playcenter 2.0 (either from the CD, or using v2.1 from their web site, as an upgrade, or a full install), and when I run Minidisc Center, it gives an error that it cannot find Mediadet.exe, even though the file is there. I specifically bought the SB Live 5.1 Platinum for its Optical outs to use on my new Minidisc player, so if anyone can help me, it'd be appreciated (It'd be nice to be able to record using the Minidisc Center!)
  3. Does anyone have any ideas? It seems the mediadet.exe is related to the Disc Detector software that Creative includes with the SB Live! Has anyone sucessfully installed PlayCenter 2.0 and Minidisc Center in Windows 2000? I'm not really concerned with PlayCenter 2.0, but I would like to get MiniDisc Center to work.
  4. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did a quick search for DVD and came up with nothing ... I have an SB Live! using the new LW3 drivers that Creative just released ... I was hoping this would allow me to use 4 speaker downmixing when watching DVDs, but so far I havent been able to get it to work ... Has anyone had any success? ... If so, which software player did you use? I tried PowerDVD v2.5.5 and WinDVD 2000 v2.1 and neither of them worked for me. Any help would be appreciated...
