After turning the computer on and running windows perfectly, after a few minutes the computer becomes sort of non-responsive. Like i am able to open new IE windows easily and browse files, but i am unable to run programs (e.g. Task Manager - i run it then it just appears in the task bar). Opera runs fine too. But other programs dont. Ive ran NAV and trojan remover with nil results. same with adaware. i have no idea wats going on. thanks. the programs currently running are: NAVCE, Symantec Client Firewall, sygate manager, netlimiter, InCD, daemon tools

Limiting Bandwidth on LAN machines to Internet? and access to admin tools
bobbinbrisco replied to ZoSo's topic in Networking
Use Sygate Office Network http://www.sygate.com This little program allows u to share the internet and limit its bandwidth ot other computers -
I cant access the network anymore (i think its got to do with the new Microsoft patch for the sasser worm) unless I turn off ZoneAlarm. My BT downloads have become slower as well (with or without the firewall). The strange thing is, is that the other computer is able to access the internet from this box (even with the firewall enabled) but cant access the files (unless firewall is closed/ trusted zone disabled). Does anyone know what the patch did? Did it block some ports of something? Thanks.

LG 4081B - where can I download new firmware
bobbinbrisco replied to bobbinbrisco's topic in Hardware
ok i emailed Kenny, one of the reviewers in http://www.hardwarezoom.com who did a review of this drive and he told me that: "LG hardly updates their English portal, but you can download it from the Korean one http://www.lge.co.kr/library/opendata.jsp?p_name=1076053797761GSA-4081A101(kw).zip" cheers.[/url] -
LG 4081B - where can I download new firmware
bobbinbrisco replied to bobbinbrisco's topic in Hardware
Quote: Google is a wonderful friend. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1757 Thanks. yeah i found that one also. but this isnt like an official patch. ive found a hardware review site that upgraded their firmware within windows. this patch requires u to do it thru DOS and they said its risky!! -
Ive checked www.lge.com and cant even find this burner listed in its product list. Does anyone own one and whether you know where I can download an update to the firmware. thanks

make sure u r using a download manager which doesn't use multiple sources for downloading files. it may be a little faster but there is a higher chance of ur download getting corrupted.
-
my new comp more than rarely crashes with a BSOD (bad pool call, pfn page error etc). i have researched these errors and the common link is that it is falty memory or hardware- i think its my RAM. is there a program that can check if ur RAM is faulty?

Free program that allows u to remove a file in use http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,7374516~root=sware~mode=flat

while we're on the topic: how come when using the 'del' command, there is no warning about whether we want to delete the file or not?
-
yeah thanks it works the delete command is: "del" btw downloading a corrupt video file doesnt mean im a P2P user.
-
I downloaded a corrupt video file and i want to delete it from my system. but whenever i try to windows gives me an error saying another program is using the file >> i suspect explorer is trying to read the file but since it is corrupted, explorer keeps on trying to, and so i cannot delete it.
