format ur fisrt drive, making sure u have a startup disk ith cd-rom drivers, boot with ur win98 cd and install in the first drive. now, after installing 98 u will lose ur boot menu, so using ur windows2000 set up floppies, u pretend to install windows2000 but instead when i t comes it to the option to reapair u choose 'repair' and now u have ur boot menu again. ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

r u running any programs when using windows 2000? use ctrl+alt+del and click on task manager and have a fiddle with that program. i think there is a lot of programs running at the same time and using up ur processor. if u r running any utilites that try to improve ur computer's speed, forget it as windows runs better by itself. ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

actually windows me has better compatility than windows 2000, which Deadcats states that windows2000 has the best compatibility than any other operating system. that is where u r wrong. windows me, as it is for the home user and small office guys, it will therefore have compatibility with the old hardware and the new whizbang gadgets of the millenium. ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

if the operating system is "the most advanced operating system in the world" shouldn't it be able to support a lot of hardware and still be stable while still making it easy for users to use any programs they want without checking up on whether it will 'work' with their operating system? ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

both products are very good at what they do. is that the latest version of pc-cillion? if it is, then i recommend u to choose any one of them but with nortonAV2000, it is able to repair files that are 'zipped' while pc-cillion can't. both r good and having any one of them would be a good choice as pc-cillion is cheaper then norton ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

quote : "That is why you check to make sure your PC will be compatible with Windows 2000 BEFORE you install it. Rubbish is hardware more difficult to setup under Windows 2000, it has a fully functioning plug&play layer, and if your motherboard correctly supports ACPI it's even easier. A lot of the more bizarre hardware is also supported by Windows 2000. Of all my games only Carmageddon 2 wont run and with Carmageddon TDR coming out first of next month nothing to worry about here. If you have the compatible hardware, Windows 2000 is the way to go, get used to it, come next year you will be forced over to it." i bought a new computer with windows 2000 and my new printer and scanner does not have the drivers for win2000 so i had to use my precious time to download them. y would u waste ur well spent money u bought as it can be compatible with ur old operating system but not compatible with windows2000? it will be a waste of money if it doesn't work under it. games too, you buy the games and when u upgrade u find out it doesn't work and the company it was made from does not provide a patch to make it compatible. windows me for example would be able to just install new hardware a lot easier than wondows 2000. ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

if the software says so they probably mean it as it will probably only designed for win9x. try going to their website to find anything, or even try searching this site. happy hunting

Will Linux be the next big thing? i think so as the OS is an open source code and more and more people and computer vendors want it for its stability and reliablilitly. it's really annoying when some people have never heard of any other "operating system" apart from windows.. arrghhh

the card is able to work under windows 2000, just make sure you have the latest drivers for it. as i had read that it will be able to run under windows 2000 when it becomes available so i shoudn't see any problems ------------------ 2 Computers both have : Intel SE440BX2 Pentium III 700Mhz (100) LS-120 120 Mb (100MHz) Fujitsu 17.3 GB Ultra DMA 66/10.2 GB Ultra DMA 66 Mitsubihi 50X IDE Creative Vibra PCI 128bit Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb AGP/Diamond Speedstar 8Mb AGP Bay Netgear 10/100PCI Medium ATX Tower case 120W Multimedia MS INternet KB (PS2) MS Win2000 Pro

where are u installing it in? separate partition because that's what u should. is ur harddrive formatted properly? try partitioning ur HD into FAT16 not FAT32 and try installing win2000. also have u checked taht ur peripherals are plugged into the right place- when i tried installing win 4.0 it took my 2 days to find out that there wasn't anything wrong with the hardware nor the FAT but instaed of plugging in the mouse in the port i plugged in 2 keyboards so the installation just crashed when it was detecting my hardware configuration!

big companies like dell, compaq and many other vendors are suporting linux. companies are trying to make linux more user friendly so that not just ONE company can dominate the market and stop innovation coming into this fast pace computer era.

are u using NAV2000 (ver.6.0) because i don't think there's a version 7? anyhow to stop NAv scanning anything u simply disable 'autoprotect'. there's an icon on ur system tray near the clock. right click the icon>disable
