lol i own a voodoo 3 2000 pci also and i would get it out of my computer right now if i had the money right now to buy a new video card like a GF 3 or GF 2 ultra but since i dont it does fine for now but i for sure want a new video card inless i dont game hehe. but i do game. i will be happy to throw it in the garbage if someone gave me the money but that aint happen right now. i know it isnt that good of a video card anymore but it does fine for now.

i am wondering how good the KYRO II is because i been hearing it is pretty fast. Like with all stuff turned on its as fast as the GeForce 3 or something. or just feels close to the same as the GF3 but a lot less money. i am not saying its exactly the same speed as the GF 3 but its not far away. Plus the GF3 is a lot more than the KYRO II. But i would love to know how the KYRO II performences under win2k because i seen benchmarks where nvidia video cards with their drivers did both good under win98 and win2k where Radeon didnt do as good under 2000 as 98. But that was a while back so maybe Radeon video cards got better. Anyone that is using the KYRO II under win2k i would love to hear how you like it so far. And btw doesnt it come with 64 mb of sd video ram ? Any help appreicated thanks

ok thanks but since i have a abit kt7a raid mobo should i get the Sound Blaster Live with all the problems talling about it and kt133a chipsets. where it causes skips in sound , etc thanks

why will it upset a lot of people ? there will be one for the pc which will drive GF 3 prices wayyyy down ? or it will be about the same price and a lottttt better? curious right now all i got now is a 3dfx voodoo 3 2000 pci with 16 mb of video ram but its better than nothing you have any advice on cd-rws , montiors , sound cards , or speakers ? thanks

ok well i did look there. And i have 3dfx voodoo 3 2000 pci card right now also. I like my voodoo so far but i hear nvidia cards are the best i think. i dont know how they are in 2d the GF 3 i hear its good but who knows i may jsut get the GF 3 if i can afford it. I guess the brand name elsa since it comes with a 6 year warranty from that company i think. and plus the nvidia GF 3 will have more support in the coming years.

why not slackware 7.1? i hear it does what you tell it to do. Very stable but i do know its pretty hard

i dont get any error. It installs the game without anything i use but the game just doesnt startup ever. like i double click on the game icon and it asks me direct x or opengl i tried both and neither worked. All it did was blink the screen like went to a black screen and back to my desktop. i tried those Whistler Application Compatibility Toolkit that you have posted before which are very nice i think but it didnt work on the game. i tried each fix. Tried everything just about i think and thank you for the reply on linux. for some reason mandrake 8.0 linux didnt like my computer the last time i installed it because it froze overnight on the screen. i guess its my proview 860 montior which is supported really or my hardware. i got a abit KT7A raid mobo duron 800mhz 256 mb of sdram pc133 cas 2 voodoo 3 2000 pci 45 gig maxtor 7200 rpm ATA 100 < 8.7 ms seek time etc .

also i sure wish i could get my nascar revoultion working on win2k but hey i cant even get the game working on win98SE anymore which is sad. must be my video card drivers or something. cause i have a voodoo 3 2000 pci video card for now but soon will get a new one i hope but for now its fine. Would love a geforce 3 hehe i think i hope right before windows xp comes out MS releases a really good compat update for windows xp or whatever so my nascar revoultion will work hehe!

hi DosFreak i was wondering why i cant get the compat. program that you made work with nascar revoultion ever , i tired everything. It's ok if you really dont know cause i know EA Sport games can be a pain in the butt on win2k. But i was just curious if you knew any reason why or any way to ever get it to maybe work on win2k if ever one day. i saw that nascar heat is now supported under the latest windows compat. update MS release too bad they cant add nascar revoultion or at least sim theme park. EA is starting to make me mad with there no support for win2k which should be supported cause all the are doing is hurting themselfs more. Ok i own two EA games called nascar revolution and sims theme park and i cant get them to work on my win2k either. Also tried everything. I do have a voodoo 3 2000 video card but i dont think that has anything to do with it because i got the latest drivers and everything. But i know that 3dfx got brought out by Nvidia so i dont think no more new drivers will be out but i am getting a new video card anyway because this one is too old i think. i think i will get a nvidia video card because they seem to have the best video cards for win2k and for gaming under it so far. BTW does Direct X 8.0a got to do with anything with EA games ? i dont think One day i hope we figure out how to run most of these EA games because sometimes you really want to play it but you cant inless you dual boot but hey i even dual booted onto win98SE and still could get my nascar revolution to work so thats pretty sad inless its my video card drivers. thanks

Yep thats true for sure. All my EA Sports games wont work dum EA sports i will make sure i dont buy from them inless it says win2k on back. i tried to talk to tech support once but they just said they didnt support win2k hehe. They will have too sooner or later since windows xp is coming out. But the two games i cant get working is nascar revolution or sim theme park tried everything

I dont want to use the 1.07 drivers for 98 cause one of my games wont work on 98 SE it nascar revolution and it hink its got to do with the drivers of my video card cause it worked before. and i even tried Direct X 6.1 , 7.0 , and 8.0 and didnt work on any of them so it may be a driver issue so thats why i am looking for earlier voodoo 3 2000 pci drivers. if anyone knows where i can get them please reply thanks

nevermind i was able to get them again but they didnt seem to work on win98 SE for some reason but thats ok
