i am wondering what a duron 800mhz processor temops should be on doing average stuff, idle , and at peak. thanks this is not overclocking btw

what should case temp be on average btw also ? thanks and its good to have like maybe this for my case like one fan in the front at bottom to bring in air in then 2 at back as very top above power supply to take hot air out thats all the mounts i have but i could always do blowholes i guess or put cooling in my 5 1/2 drives heres a pic of my case btw http://www.vikingcomputers.net/ca-scatx100f.html

Curious how yall like yall Panaflo case fans if you own some thanks and if you own the lower dBa or higher dBa Panaflo case fans cause i am wondering whats the difference from like 27 to 35 dBa is and 30 to 41.5 dBa , etc cause i dont know if i will get the higher dBa fans or not even thou they do more CFM and same price but the noise may not be worth it for me cause i dont like too noisey of a pc please reply thanks

Ok i have $120 right now but really dont want to spend a lot of it cause i want to soon beable to get a ibm 30 gig HD 15 gig if i cant afford 30 gig. and maybe some more ram like 256 to 512 mb of ram. My cpu highest temp during gaming was 123 F and case was 118 F tops on normal use its about cpu temp 104 F to 109F and case temp 109 F to 113 F But if i leave both sides of my full tower case off i only reach up to 104 to 106 F tops in gaming and case temp about 98 to 102 F tops. Curious if i should just leave both sides of my case off or leave them on and get better cooling? wondering how bad the dust could kill my system with both sides of full tower case off . its not by a outside door so thats good but still i know it can get dusty even with a closed case. Or should i like cut a whole in my case for a blow hole for a fan ? i dont know exactly what i am doing if i cut a hole in the side of my case cause i never did it before but it may be better cooling than just adding like a fan down below in front of the bottom of my case where the fan cage is. Then i could add another fan or 2 or dual fans in the back top of my case where they have two holes for case fans in my full tower case. hey those Panaflo case fans do they come with a 4 pin connector already on them ? cause i want to make sure and whats the difference from the ones that say Tailed Fans cause they are Panaflo case fans too but $1 more for each please reply thanks

i install Nascar Revolution then when i go to play it i chose Direct 3d or glide i tried both options and when i chose which ever one i want it doesnt go into the game just flicks and is still on the desktop. i am trying to get it to work but so far no luck anyone know how to get it to work maybe? think it works on windows xp if it does couldnt it work on win2k since they are the same kernel i am using Appcompat and Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) but so far no luck if anyone can help or jsut try would be greatly appreicated thanks

Like i once was at this site that had recordings of like 25 to 46 or alittle higher dBa sound noise of each fan i wish i could find a website like that again. i forgot the url of that one and trying to find it again or another one. does anyone know of one or can maybe help me? thanks trying to know the big difference from 30 to 41.5 dBa

Thanks going to go look at radio shack to see what they have and btw what about blow holes? cutting a hole in the side or top of my case? also do i use just normal case fans for both bottom front of case and back top of case? that just blow air. and the one for the slot the heat exhauster one?

i was wondering why my new stuff sorta seems like laggy. Like it seems faster but not like a lot. I got a Abit KT7A Raid Motherboard , duron 800mhz processor and this Super ATX 100 Full Tower w/ 300 Watt Power Supply. I used my old 8.4 gig maxtor 5400 rpm Hard drive (9.0 ns seek time i think), 128 mb of ram that is like pc100 or maybe one of the pc66 but i think they are both pc100 i know one is for sure, voodoo 3 2000 pci video card , dlink ethernet card , cdrom , CD-RW , floppy , and this old isa sound card but just for now i will upgrade all the old stuff sooner or later little by little. Does anyone know what is slowing me down ? i am thinking its my hard drive and ram or maybe more than just that i use to be on a intel celeron 366mhz processor btw please reply thanks

yeah but why does MS say specs for win2k pro and you really need a lot better specs than they say always? its like they dont give a care which they dont hehe

i use my retail heatsink/fan for the duron 800mhz processor , and have a little fan that came on my mobo , and the power supply fan and thats it. The temp gets up to 122 C as its highest temp on the cpu which is in gaming and case temp 118 C tops is this bad should i have better cooling or just not worry about it and get my 2nd dimm of 256 mb of ram and ibm HD , etc instead of buying stuff for cooling thanks

thats very true but what if someone dont have the money to upgrade to 128 or 256 mb of ram for win2k and may not have a fast enough processor then you have to use win 98 cause windows me is even worst but since i got the power for win2k i can run it mostly expect my HD is alittle slow but its fine for now thinking about getting another dimm of 256 to make 512 mb of ram but have no idea if its worth it or i should i will have to think about it got $70 right now so i may just save for my new ibm 75 gxp series 30 gig HD or get another dimm of 256 mb of ram then start saving

How much faster we talking here please? curious cause win2k isnt that slow and i bet windows whistler isnt as stable as win2k was in beta

hey you know what is so strange i played unreal tourment ,quake 3 area , quake 3 team area just fine with my old pc100 128 mb of ram. it was 2 dimms of 64 so i guess i was lucky or something and i only had a intel celeron 366mhz but not i got my processor ,mobo, ram , and case that are all new my 256 mb of micron ram (crucial ram) , pc133 , cas2 , lifetime warranty, and one dimm works better but not a huge difference i guess and btw games ran like better in win2k pro most of them than in win98 or win98SE with my old system. in win98 or win98SE unreal tourment would start skipping and pausing on me on win2k not at all. So maybe that 128 mb of ram was bad in win98 or win98SE hehe its strange but it was true.

ok about the ram i know 256 mb of ram is alot better for good performence but more is always better for NT but not for everyone but 256 is good for everyone to have on win2k pro for it to be fast and good. but what about my cpu temps and case temps and stuff like that
