Is this a bad temp for my duron 800mhz processor and system temp. i have both sides of my full tower on. My cpu temp most of the time is around 105F to 115F (41 to 51 C) i seen in gaming it reach 118 and even 120 F (54 to 56 C) but no higher and my case temp most of the time is 111 F to 118 F (44 to 54 C) Is this bad ? i dont know if i should add a case fan or what cause i really dont have any all i got is a cpu fan on top of cpu's heatsink and a fan that is on the mobo that came with it i sorta dont want a loud computer but you think i could deal with a loud loud computer if i had to ? like one that sounds like a blow driver on 24/7 or 747 going off

did it make like a 50 % speed increase? cause i am on win2k pro and i think it may help me a lot but not sure please reply thanks

ok everyone i got 256 mb of ram pc133 , cas2 of cruical ram should i buy another dimm of this for $96 to make 512 mb of ram for my win2k pro or get my ibm 75 gxp series 30 gig HD 7200 rpm ATA/100 HD now for $175 btw i got a maxtor 8.4 gig 5400 rpm ATA33 HD right now but its not terrible but its not great either

i got my one dimm of 256 mb of micron pc133 , cas2 ram today and i was wondering how should i set my Abit KT7A Raid Motherboard BIOS. i had pc100 ram and it didnt look like it changed any setting so i was wondering cause i could be in slow setting and the ram not doing much for me. so thats why i am wondering if i need to set stuff faster or something thanks

But is ibm hard drives really all its up to be? like the 75gxp series i heard one where it kept overheating but still could be used but not when it overheated then one where there ibm 75gxp 30 or 45 gig just died one day. And is ibm really much faster than maxtor cause i never seen a benckmark in my life that showed maxtor agaisnt ibm just WD and ibm and never one with all 3 thanks

BTW what hard drive brand should i get and size. i know i want fast speed , really good performence hard drive , etc but don't know what brand to get. but i do know i want 7200 rpm and ATA 100 and like low seek time thinking about maxtor ,western digtal or ibm , but not sure it may be maxtor or western digtal. I dont know if maxtor is faster than WD or ibm so its hard to say since i cant find no benchmark agaisnt ibm and maxtor! thanks

Are you talking about 256mb of micron ram (crucial ram) one dimm of , pc133 , cas2 , lifetime warranty ,maybe free 2nd day shipping for $50 or $60 in a few months ? cause i heard ram prices are going to go up soon Cause wont DDR ram become more wide spread and be the more commom ram and then sdram not be produce as much so ending up more expersive soon And btw should i get a ibm HD ? hearing that the GXP 75 series are having a lot of problems like overheating , etc but not quite sure if its common but i have heard of some. not sure if i am getting a 15 or 30 gig 75GXP series from a ibm or not yet but the 15 gig one is $115 and 30 gig $179 or $169 which is from the website www.ibm.com cause if i get it there i know i get that 3 year warranty just in case thanks

Ok i am thinking about not going with 512 mb of ram now but with 2 dimms of 256 mb of ram . It is 2 dimms of 256mb of micron ram , pc133 , cas2 , lifetime warranty , and 2nd day shipping free for $192 for a total of 512 mb of ram. Think 256 MB of ram is enough for my win2k pro ? I can't beleive how quick that ram went down $20 in a matter of a few days! i love that hope they come back down as good if they ever go back up in price and btw what kind of hard drive should i get? i may try ibm after i get my ram but would maxtor be ok if i had to get maxtor cause of the amount of money i have or because i just want to get the new hard drive fast and locally

I can get into the part where i choose from single or two players and then choose my car but then after that when it is loading up the map i hear this nosie and the game is exit out Can anyone help ? I am on a intel celeron 366mhz , 128mb of ram ,and a 8.4 gig HD its sorta slow you know. But i was wondering if there is anyway to speed up win2k pro on my computer? i know the bootup and shutdown is always slower but i mean like in win2k itself. Win2k starts like slowing down on me with like many programs open like about 3 to 5 sometimes. And my games take alittle while to load up sometimes. Is there anyway to help win2k run faster on my computer right now thru vcache or something? i am on the NTFS file system by the way. I just wish i could get the feel of win98 SE again where its not as sluggish sorta. I am not saying win2k is bad or anything because it isnt. Win2k is very stable and great OS compared to win98. I like wish to get the feel of win98 again in speed and games on my computer but still get the win2k stabilty. but i dont know if thats possible Any Help is very appreicated Please Reply Thanks

Ok well i have a Voodoo 3 2000 pci video card , 366mhz intel celeron , 128mb of ram , maxtor 8.4 gig 5400 rpm old HD, 32x max CD-Rom drive , HP 9110i 8x 4x 32x IDE CD-RW ,quickcam VC , Lexmark Z22 printer thats usb that i just put in , dont know what kind of speakers exactly , a 14 inch proview montior , onboard sound card , i did have a onboard video card but not i use that voodoo 3 2000 pci one like i said , Dlink DFE-530TX 10/100 Mbps ethernet card , and my cable modem with my cable connection. I use my computer to play games , run software , surf the web , try demo software and games , chat , burn cds , etc. I am a power user i guess hehe. Right now i only have about 3 gigs used up on my 8.4 gig HD Ok well i have told you like everything i know that i have and use my computer for can you help now? I try to play Twisted Mental 2 but it doesnt work for me compeletely Like i get into it to choose single player then a car , but then after that when the map is loading up it gives me a error sound and i exit out the game after a black screen. I am wondering if Goback by Adaptec is a good program to get? Like if i use it on win98 or windows me. I am wondering because i was reading that it can time travel to a time back when your system was working fine and even recovery from a formated HD which i think its pretty neat. I am wondering if Goback will take alot of HD space and how many days or weeks will it save ? (i am on the computer alot mostly) Just curious if i should get this program and if its worth while. Sometimes when i am on win2k for a while on even sometimes not for too long i may have like 4 programs to 6 programs up and maybe 2 IE windows up or one but then when i close out a IE window or even a program sometimes my computer will just restart for no reason. I hate this problem because i never know when its going to happen but i think its something with memory dumping i think but not sure. Cannot anyone maybe help me ? I really do hope all the software , game , and hardware companys make all there stuff work on the NT kernel because they will have to with Whistler like yall said or go out of business. With my processor decision i still really haven't figure out what processor speed i am getting but i am pretty sure it will be a AMD Duron or Thunderbird because P3 is just too much.
