What I do: turn the music all the way down, and play a CD, or WinAmp in the background. This way, the songs don't change when you begin a new level. It's not like Win2K can't handle the multitasking.... -bZj

If you only need ASPI, then you're not too bad off. I got ASPI crap from my SCSI card, but I know you can get it from other places. Take a look around the web. -bZj

Nothing seems to be that different. Tony Hawk 2 and Quake 3 look the same so far. -bZj

From what I've read about the Radeon: goods: ------ best all-around card out runs at huge resolutions [1280x1024 or don't bother] DVD decoding onboard bads: ----- less than spectacular driver support for Win2K high co$t not the absolute fastest [GF2Ultra] -bZj

I don't have much help, but I noticed that Adaptec released a version [4.02] of EZ-CD Creator that is "fully Windows 2000 compatible", so you may want to grab this [ http://www.adaptec.com/support/advisor/cdrupdates/ecdc401.html ], if you don't already have it. Good luck, -bZj

I'm sorry if I actually upset you, Bleeker50. I should have just ignored the post, but I'm an comedian [that's what the teachers always said ]. I just feel that the only justification of w4r3z is that you have to work for them, so posting for the answer is like cheating, to me. My posts were meant only as comic relief, I don't care if you have Whistler or not, if you've got it, good for you. I never meant to pi55 off JDul, or Bleeker, only that STiSev dork . That being said, I've been stressed lately, so I may be picking at people more that I normally would. Have a nice day, seriously, -bZj

Hey, don't bring me into this. -bZj

Please, help me, I need help. I never meant to harr*** you JDul. When I arrived at this board, they were still making fun of you for that DOS comment [you've obviously grow since then]. I searched out this comment, and saved it show to a friend of mine - yes, people are mean and like to make fun of other people to make them selves feel better - it was funny. I still had it on my harddrive, and in the interest of history, I threw it up on my server just for this post. I'm not taking it down, but I won't ever post it again. Just use it as a reminder that you were wrong once, and could be again. -bZj

Awww, what'd you have to tell 'im for? -bZj

Luckily, I saved the page a while back. HERE IT IS. -bZj

As far as I knwo, the NT bootloader on NT4.0 is the same as 2K, so: Install ME first, onto the C:\ drive, then install NT4 on the D:\ drive, and the NT bootloader will notice the ME installation and give you the option of booting to ME at... boot. -bZj

I couldn't get the damn thing to install correctly. It kept whining about Admin rights, but I'm logged in as Admin. Whatever. -bZj

Ignoring the above comment... I noticed this too. Things like TaskMgr.exe and others sometimes don't show up back in the Systray after an Explorer.exe crash. Haven't yet found a way to compensate for it. I have seen app that will allow you to put anything in the tray, but can't remember names, and there should be an embedded feature to fix this. -bZj

Quote: Current Email: stisev@aol.com I think that says it all. I was looking at the board, and you just ravaged it with tons of extremely opinionated, but totally unsupported advice, all the while belittling those who you gave it to. Great help buddy. -bZj

Not to become part of a flame, but I think anyone who has legal access to Whistler would also have access to definite information on the OS. -bZj

People who aren't familiar with w4r3z should not play with them. -bZj

I didn't see a way to cap FTP, but the option to cap HTTP is un the 'Performance' tab in the server's properties. -bZj

I tried the same to no avail. I ended up formatting and re-installing Server. -bzj

My pennies: I've heard of minor problems with AMD and Win2K, but they seem to be easly overcome, so I'll probably go Thunderbird when I upgrade my PIII500E [give it a few more months]. The current P4s being shipped will outdo themselves in less than a year, how's that for forward looking design? -bZj

ftp.netscape.com You can get the full download from the 'sea' directory, if you don't want the SmartUpdate thing. -bZj

I took the intiative and created a FAQ for Whistler: http://www.ntcompatible.com/faq3.shtml Now, everyone just needs to add to it. [Not that anyone ever reads FAQs anyway.] -bZj [This message has been edited by Down8 (edited 26 November 2000).]

Netscape has never done JavaScripting wrong. Netscape invented web-scripting. It was not fully compliant with DOM nor CSS [before NS6], so some calls made on these were not interpretted correctly. -bZj
