    Windows XP Appearance

don't worry, i fixed it. Copied the themes folder from another computer
  2. I turned my computer on today to find that the Windows XP theme had been changed to the Windows classic theme without me doing it, which i thought was weird. Then i went to switch it back, and found out the the Windows XP setting in the Appearance tab of the desktop properties has gone. Anyone know how i can get this back. Please help. PeeWee

    My files have disappeared

i was moving stuff about on my hard drive, and after cutting and pasting about 45 files into one directory, my computer crashed giving me a bsod error, so i restarted. when i got back into windows i found that the files were not shown in explorer, but im pretty sure they arent gone/deleted as the free space hasnt changed. Anyone got any ideas how to recover them. Im not sure if this is the right forum for this message so sorry if its not. Thanks.
  4. I decided to try my Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital (the old one not the new 3D one) in windows XP the other day. I checked compatibility on the Logitech site and it said it would work, so i downloaded the latest Wingman software. Plugged in the joystick, installed the software, but when it got to the detection process the installation crashed. So i restarted and tried to add the joystick in Games controllers in control panel, which it says the Status is OK. I goto properties and the joystick functions for a few seconds (everything appears to work) and then i get an error about the joystick not being connected correctly. I know my game port works as i have a Microsoft Sidewinder and that works fine it it, and its not the joystick as ive tried on 2 other computers, which had 2 different sound cards, and it worked fine, both running XP. Is this some weird problem with my sound card?

    WinME and Diamond Modem

I have a Diamond SupraExpress 56i V Pro (SUP 2560). When i first got WinME, i installed it over Win98, and my modem worked fine in it. Then I formatted my machine and did a clean install of WinME. Then my modem failed to work in it. I recently looked on Diamonds website (s3.com) and it says my modem is incompatible with WinME. I was wondering if anyone has gotten this modem to work in WinME. I was thinking of seeing what other modem drivers WinME has for Diamond modems as in Windows 2000 i am using one of the ones that come with Windows, as the ones of the net crash my machine. Anyone care to help me by telling me what Diamond modem drivers come with WinME or if they have the same modem as me what drivers they used. I don't really want to install win98 then WinME afterwards, but this seems like my only current solution.

Diamond Supra Express 56i in win2k

I have a Diamond Supra Express 56i V PRO running under win2k, and when I installed the beta drivers i got an error message on a blue screen. This doesnt happen when im offline so im assuming there is a driver problem to do with the modem. It happens when there is a lot of system activity. The error message is: ***STOP: 0x0000000A (0x8049f684, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8049f684) IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL *Addesss 8049f684 base at 80400000, Datestamp 384d9b17 - ntoskrnl.exe *Addesss 8049f684 base at 80400000, Datestamp 384d9b17 - ntoskrnl.exe Beginning dump of Physical Memory I have installed SP1 but the problem still happens. Windows 2000 recognises the modem as a HCF Modem on install, but this does not dial for me. Please help me.
