i updated my bios before i installed win2k to 1007 and still no good, arghhhh this sucks

I have windows advanced server SP1 installed on an AMD athlon 800 and it does not sort files by TYPE , NAME , DATE or anything in any view in explorer windows and it is making me crazy as i have never seen this problem before (it existed before the Service pack update). If you can help let me know. Thanks - Dave
