Well it sounds to me like it can take a program like download accelertor which will chop a download into 2 parts....then assign a part to each connection, but you need the software, which is why the software is advertised on their site. it doesnt sound like that capability is built in. and even if it was that still is quite the merge i was looking for, but close .~j0Os~.

Looks like that could be the best way to manage them at the moment...boy i wish there was a way to merge the two into one super connection though! thanks .~j0Os~.

that sounds like a cool little do-hickey. let me know and if you know of another way also. thanks .~j0Os~.

If I have both cable and DSL internet service is it possible to set up a download stream that combines the two bandwidths? If not what is the best possible way for these two internet services to co-exist.

This one really bugs me and it only happens in winxp. I have a USB propad 8 gamepad. As soon as i plug it in it is detected right away and runs fine for about 2 minutes. As soon as i start using it though all the sudden i hear that USB 'disconnect' sound and the pad stops working. anybody have a clue what this is? here are a few things i have noticed about it. 1. it isnt the game that im playing because i will go into the game controller settings and mess with the controller for a minute and it will disconnect. 2. it isnt my computer because i have put it on 4 different computers ranging from 400 celeron up to 1.4 athlon and it is the same thing. 3.controller works beautifully without software in win2k. 4.it will do this whether plugged into a hub or right into the computer. 5.installed a windows hotfix that is supposed to help winxp usb problem with power management but didnt work. any help is appreciated thanks .~j0Os~.

Well i guess i will answer this one by myself net send /domain:'workgroup name' message so if you wanted to tell the MSHOME workgroup Hello you would type net send /domain:MSHOME Hello Hope that helps others too! .~j0Os~.

Kinda a dumb question, is there a way to send a little message to all the computers in a workgroup in winxp. i know of the net send command but can only figure out how to send a message to one computer. i would like the solution to be native to windows and not an extra program. p.s. we are not part of a domain on the network thanks .~j0Os~.

I have an idea but have no clue on how to do it. Is there maybe a config file in windows that i can alter where maybe it says something like "cd-rom=x" where x is the drive letter? i can then edit it to the name of the mapped drive. do you guys think this would work? if so what file would i need to edit? thanks .~j0Os~.
-
I have already mapped the drive so it will network normally but it loses all the properties of being a cd-rom drive over the network. this isnt what i want. i want it to be seen as an actual cd-rom drive over the network. if there is a program to do this it would be great or a native windows solution would be better. but i dont want to use one of those virtual cd-rom apps that makes an image of the cd on a computer.
-
Well what I guess I meant is this....lets say you have a problem with winxp on Workstation B and the OS says you have to insert the windows cd to fix it. is there any way that i can insert the cd in server A so that workstation B will recognize there is a cd in server A thus it will start extraction from the cd. kinda haed to put into words thanks .~j0Os~.

I was wondering if it is possible to share a cd-rom drive over a network and make the computers that it is shared to see it as a true cd-rom drive. I know that you can map to the cd-rom so that it has a specified drive letter but then it is just seen as a normal networked drive. so in effect i want to make it so if i put a cd in server A, then workstations B, C, and D will have the "auto run" from the cd pop up. i have a feeling this is imposible but it would sure be cool. thanks guys .~j0Os~.

Whoops figures i messed up the damn pic.....well anyway the pic pretty much showed the process window in the taskmanager and it shows the process of 'system' taking up 99% cpu usage. i dont mind killing the app like you said viper but i would prefer to know what the heck is actually causing the prob....any clues on that?
-
I dont understand why my system is doin this....i will be surfing the net just reading or playing a game or anything else any normal human being would do and all the sudden my cpu usage jumps to 97-100%. Any ideas? i located the process that is doin this but i cant end it(see pic). any help is greatly appreciated. I format once every 6 months or so just because im a neat freak and i do so with an image that i made that was a clean dual 2k\me boot. whats weird is every other time or so i end up haveing to redo it because for whatever reason in win2k after about 30 min my system starts going in slow mode. i bring up the task manager and in processes i see that system is taking up 100% cpu usage. so i end up formatting again with the same image and its fine. what on earth could this be? 700 Athlon Asus mobo leadtek 64 mb gts philips acoustic edge
