Just looking at putting together a low end PC to be used as a server for ICS running Win NT, and have alot of small size hard drives lying around. Whats the minimum install of Win NT, and what what size will it increase to if I put on say service pack 4. Scott

HI, I have a small network at home comprising of a PC acting as a server (running Win98SE) with a cable modem as internet access, plus also connected to a hub. This PC is then connected via the hub to 2 other PC.s running Win2k. Is there any recommendations of a program that I can place on my server PC, that will collect all the e-mail, then when the other PC.c boot up, they can then collect their individual e-mail. I understand that there is a freeware program available but the person who told me has no details. I hope I have explained this clearlyt. Scott

HI, Finally took the plung and did a fresh install of Win2k. Great. no problem initially, got connected to the net, installed my major software i.e Firewall etc. BUT all of a sudden I cannot retrieve data from the net, connect OK but not get any info. So, I did the usual, reinstalled TCP/IP, then after no joy reinstalled Win2k, no joy, reinstalled I.E 5.5 - still no joy. Then decided to ping my ISP and a few sites and started getting Ping error 65. So, if this is the problem, what is it and how do I fix. Yours desparately, Scott

Found the culprit. A bloady dodgy Win2k disk, even though I have not had a problem with it in the past. Installed using another Win2k disk and now no problems. At least it has given me the excuse to have a clear out. Scott

OK, decided to reinstall Win2k over the top of my present setup of Win2k as had a few config problems with some software - nothing major, but for ease decided to reinstall Win2k. Anyway, durring the first part of setup - when its detecting mouse etc, half way through I get the blue screen saying memory dump. It keeps doing this, no matter if I choose to do recovery mode, safe mode etc. So can anytell me how I can stop setup from insatlling and so I can go back to my old setup of Win2k. HI, The question. A friend of mine wants to buy a Sony Vaio Laptop running Win2k, but its configured to run FAT32 as per standard. He though is having also a new PC at work that will also be running Win2k but will be configured to NFTS. What are his options a connecting the both.? We he be able to share information. network up etc.? Or is it best to get Sony to configure his new laptop to NFTS? All opinions needed. Scott

Hi, I have this CD-Rom that basically contains a programs that I use for work. It runs automatically as soon as I put it in the CD-Rom Drive. I have copied the CD's contents to a folder on my C Drive but how do I make it autorun. I have tried all the files in there but no luck. Anu ideas, Scott

Hi, At work I have now got 2 e-mail addresses due to the job I do. They though have been having problems with Outlook 2000 collecting both mailboxes, so is it possible to config Outlook Express to connect to a MS Exchange Server. Scott

Hi, I run IIS, with a local & intenet ftp that is stored on my home PC. I also have Zonealarm running. I am concerned though that on a recent shields test that my ftp and http ports were open. I understand this is due to running the web site and ftp access but is there any way I can minimalise the access adn so reduce the damage if someone does get access to my computer. Scott

HI, Whats the best virtual memory paging size, as I have 128 meg Ram adn its set at 192 and this does not seem enough as get errors when I open some applications i.e Word97. Scott
