    Pecular Win2k DUN problem

I don´t think it´s a modem specific problem, I have a completly diferent hardware platform and an external hardware modem and had the same problem. Only a fresh install cured it.

    Considering SBLive for my win2k...

I think Liveware 3.0 for win2k doesn´t seem to support SPDIF. It does support it in win98. At least winDVD and PowerDVD report SPDIF as not supported when running win2k.

Can´t get DMA with my cd-rom and burner

Hey thanks! Actually I never could find an AMD 756 IDE driver for win2k, and reading your post I went to AMD site and finally they have a busmaster win2k compatible driver v 1.32 dated August 2k... Installed it and it runs fine in DMA mode now! Thanks again
  4. They work fine with win98 in DMA mode. Now win2k autodetects pio mode, and if I select "use DMA if available" the system reboots and hangs. I must use the repair setup. Using a Gigabyte 7IX mobo (AMD Irongate). Any ideas? Thanks.

    Pecular Win2k DUN problem

Gee, I was reading this BBS to see if I could find a problem similar to mine, and there you go. I had EXACTLY the same problem. Now I reinstalled win2k - the prob is gone. I was using sp1, dx8beta, IE 5.5. My specs:Gigabyte 7-IX, 128Mb, K7 700, G400 DH 32Mb, Sblive, Diamond Supraexpress 56k external. Latest drivers and bios for everything. Now I wonder what the problem is, it was really anoying having to reboot every time I wanted to reconnect to the internet...
