i had a dxr3 wich has now gone up the spout, are there any others out there that i could replace it with? I am not looking for a sigma designs as they cost too much. If not is there anyway to get a software player to output dolby digital through my Live card in windows 2000? and which software would this be? Thanks Tom

i just bought a 3com officeconnect card for my laptop (hp xe3) and when i plug it in the drivers install fine, then there is a yellow ! next to it, when i double click on it it says "The device is not working correctly because windows cannot load the drivers required for the device (error 31)" i have tried re-installing the drivers unplugging it etc. nothing works has anybody got any ideas! Thanks for your reply. Do you know of anywhere that will have a list of all file registry entries etc that the dxr3 puts in. I was using the sigmadesigns software (much better than creative), worked fine for ages then turned on my comp and it didn't. I have tried it in another computer that had never had that card installed before and it did the same thing, thats whats strange. Thanks Tom

Hello, i am looking for a new laptop, i have found some in the range of £750-£850 and some have tft screens which i know about and have seen them, but i am wondering what dstn screens look like. Are they as good a tft? better? Many thanks. Also if anyone know of any laptops for around that price please post them. Tom

I am looking into buying a 3com X-jack network card for my laptop. I dont want one of those network cards with the dongle thing as they always seem too flimsy, is this a good alternative? is it quite strong? any input is welcome. Many Thanks Tom

Yep it is, windows 2000 (if that is what you are uising), doesn't sipport udma 100, so the manufacturers get around it by tricking it into thinking its a scsi device therefore windows uses it as the maximum the drive can deliver. Tom

my maxtor hd has gone down the pan. I am thinking of RMA'ing it back to diamond one thing is that it had w*r*z and mp3s on it, are diamind likely to look for such things, if they do find them what are they likely to do. Just ignore them? Many thanks in advance Tom

yeah buy some crucial memory www.crucial.com/uk (if you are in the uk) its not too expensive, but it is damn fast and it solved my lockups. Tom

Hi, I was in the same situation as you, intel through and through, then i went for a 1.1Ghz TBird and a abit kt7, i had alot of problems with this board and sent it back and got a Asus a7v133 instead and it is 100% stable. This could have been because i changed my ram (most probably) i now have 128Mb cas2 133 mhz crucial ram and this definitly helps stability, so does a good power supply (300 watt or more). Is your RAM a good make? do you have at least a 300W power supply that is AMD approved? I have random freezes and changed my ram to 128 CRUCIAL PC133 and a Enermax 330W psu and it solved all my problems. Tom

the first is a know error with windows 2000 in some surcumstances it reports this error for no reason, during boot. I have it and a few servers at work do. This will be fixed in sp2. Tom

i have a bsod come up in windows sometimes, i looked in the event viewer and have seen a warning with code 51, an error was detected on device \device\cdrom1 during a paging operation. what does this mean and how can i fix it. Thanks Tom

i have noticed in event viewer that ther are a few more errors with: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation. and The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1, did not respond within the timeout period.
