Quote: Have you tried the memory in a different computer to see if it really is working? If you have more than one stick, try one at a time. Do you have a network card installed? This computer comes with USB 2.0 support, but does your copy of XP recognize it as such? I already tried to pull everything out of the computer ... My own computer has almost the same hardware (Asus A7v333 + 1700+, same graphics card). And there has never been any problems installing WinXP. I also tried Win98 with worked flawlessly.

Quote: Hmm, try removing any and all "non-essential" hardware (if you haven't done so already), leave only a video card, cdrom, harddrive, etc. I already tried that.

I tried to install win XP onto a brand new computer with Asus A7V333 a Creative GeForce 4400 and a 12gb HDD on the RAID controller. I used the drivers disc as I did with my own computer with the same hardware. But as soon as windows goes into the 2nd installation phase (graphical user interface) I get an error message telling me that modules cannot be installed. Windows tells me that this is a critical error and installation cannot continue. I tired differnet WindowsXP CDs and also used the HDD on the regular controller. I used a differnt CDROM driver and also changed the HDD. I pulled out all the card, changed the position of the RAM and updated the bios.... nothing works. ANY SUGGESTIONS ???

Unfortunately I get the same error. I'd really love to get the refresh rate fix for those new Detos which are working very good btw.

Quote: Hi dodgeviperrt10, Got 2481,2485 And Need for speed works with no error message ?
-
Quote: Well for me it would start and then just sit there. Try renameing the file GIMME.DLL just the end *.dl. Sorry dude mine works great after that. What build # are you using?

Quote: I know. hehe..just kidding. I was bored when I posted the last one. I wasn't trying to insult people's intellegence or anything. Dodgeviperrt10, you got NFS 5 working on XP yet? I am thinking about upgrading to XP from Win2k, if NFS 5 work on XP. No, didn't get t to work because noone helped me so far !

Quote: That's weird. I have a 2000U, which is a bit older than the one you have, and it worked fine in 2465 and now in 2481. I haven't tried any other builds, but it could be something MS was tweaking so it lost functionality in that build. Like Remote Desktop in 2465. In any case, I just installed the OS, plugged in the scanner, and bam, it worked. I never could get it to work right in Win2K (although it worked fine in 9x and Me). But you did use the Umax drivers? The XP build in scanner wizard works fine too, but it blocks off the Umax drivers which are needed in order to use TWAIN.
-
I used to get my scanner working with all other build. but with this 2781 build the system keeps recognizing the scanner itself and won't let the UMAX drivers work ! Please help

Is there any way to get Need for Speed running with Windows XP build 2781 ? I always get a directX error (some "termination" is written in the window name line) which says that DirectX 0 is installed and DirectX 7 is needed. Any suggestions ? Thank you !
