Quote: Is the latest Mozilla built on this new 7.0 foundation the other way around-ns 7.0 was built based on the 1.01 branch of mozilla which is now at 1.1. personally i haven’t dl-ed this ns7, but there was a huge difference between mozilla 1.0 and 1.1 (esp. in the mail thingy) so i don’t know... well anyway, since mozila 1.1 beta was released i switched over to it from opera as my default browser, and myie2 for pr0n.

as far as my memory goes you somehow mount an cd image of the vmware tools in the guest os and install them from there. it was really easy to do (and no downloads), but i can't remember the exact procedure-try clicking that link in the status bar maybe

i just found out about tagscanner a couple of days ago, so i can't provide in depth info, but it seems nice and its free. was using Tag&Rename before and its great, not free though

X:\i386\taskkill.ex_ with your win xp cd in the cd drive x, unpack it, then use it from the cmd line like e:\taskkill.exe /f /pid [pid of the process you want to kill] and be careful!

Windows File Protection Win2000 SP2
bottleneck replied to mrandazzo's topic in Customization & Tweaking
just delete the file you want to replace from %windir%\system32\dllcache\ (and any other place you find it) and then overwrite it with the "new" one. you don't need to disable wfp, just when it asks for the w2k cd tell it to go to hell. -

a perfect circle-3 libras and doesn't everybody have sort of wierd music taste, i mean i like: tool, nin, radiohead, massive attack, aphex twin, juno reactor, laibach, biosphere, boards of canada, fsol, garbage, faith no more, autechre, depeche mode...

there is also the virtual pc thing and it basicly does teh same thing as vmware. it emulates some crummy harware for the "guest" (or whatever the hell their term is) os. i haven't tested it very much, but it might be worth checking it out.

it's idiotic the way i do it (i use 27.10), but since noone replyed here it is: make a shortcut of the "nvidia nview desktop manager" control panel aplet and place it the startup folder, then you just have to press ok after logon. you could do a .vbs that does this and then sends _enter_ or _alt+F4_ if you feel like it.

so i didn't exactly read your whole post(yeah i'm a lazy bastard), but maybe you should try this i like it.

the way i _explained_ doesn't require (spelling?) turning off wfp. you just have to be quickerr than it, it will nag but you can click ignore or whatever and thats it. so no need for reghacks or hexediting sys files, or rebooting for that matter. but its fine the way you said if you don't mind rebooting and all that...
-
yeah, but you don't have to have 2 monitors, its a *virtual* desktop manager-you know like in linux alt+Fx (or whatever key combo it was, haven't used linux in a couple of years)
-
i dont know the comand to scan for "bad" files, but whats wrong with copying over your "hacked" file. if wfp kiks in you just have to copy the file realy fast to all the locations-make a batch file to copy logonui.exe from the cd to %windir%\system32\ and %windir%\system32\dllcache\ if the wfp catches it the first time try it again. i know this works for explorer.exe you just have to kill it in taskmanager and for notepad.

i dl-ed them last night from m3dzone, they seem fine to me, havent had any infinite loop things ever so i dont know about that. cant say much about benchmarks, but they felt about the same as 23.11 oh one more thing-there is a virtual desktop manager included that works beatifully, been using jspager but this thing is faster. there is an option when you drag a window for it to be transparent. now i just noticed that draging a window like this eats less cpu (like 10% instead of 30%) compared when the window is opaque. why????

what brian said, also i like max payne alot-great graphics, the storyline is...well it sucks, but there are some funny moments in there. ahemmmm.....colin mcrae 2 is fine "rally simulation" kinda game-i like it...so that would be my suggestion
