    UDMA and W2K

Hi There: May be someone asked this question before..Is W2K supporting UDMA by default installation? If yes, where can I look up the related info within W2K? Problem w/h Midtown Madness

Don't know if anyone experiencing the same problem..I am able to install and launch Midtown Madness on my W2K Server without any problems..but once I started a new race...The graphics and building textures inside the game started to distorted. I don't have this problem on either MM2 or NFS:HS. I guess shouldn't be related to the refresh rate...can anyone help?? P.S. Same problem with my W98 box Some related spec. are as followed: ASUS V7100 Nvidia GeForce 2MX 32Mb w/h v6.18 driver PII450 w/h 256MB RAM W2K Server w/h SP1 Thanks! Problem w/h Midtown Madness

Thanks JD...I forgot to mention in my first post. On my W98 box, I had already applied DX8, same problem. Initially, I thought it was DX8 causing the problem. That's why I tried it on my W2k box without using DX8...same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks! regards Mugen C

    Midtown Madness 2 & Win2k

Hi There, I have MM2 working on my W2K Server w/h SP1 applied without any problems(except for the performance due to H/W Limitation). So I don't think SP1 is the issue. However, you mentioned that you have it working under W98. I'm just wondering, assuming that you have dual boot....are you running your MM2 from the same partition as the other OS? If so, try to avoid it. I know it is kinda wasting space...but try to install your MM2 in other partition instead of sharing it with 2 OS. Also, have you tried to run MM2 without using the "no-cd" files? Hope my 2 cents can help! regards Mugen C ------------------ Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do!
  18. Hi There, is there any W2K Drivers for CD-RW Blaster 6424? I checked their web site, but couldn't any. Any advises? Winddows NT 4.0 vs Windows 2000: Why Should I Upgrade?

Here is my 2 cents...in my office, all of our salespersons are using Toshiba Notebooks. They are all using NT4 based OS. On Toshiba, setting up the older model of Xircom Realport card is a nightmare. Always take me half a day to resolve all the conflicts. I remember there's one NB, I couldn't get it working at all. The card worked perfectly fine with other NB which is running Win98. For testing purpose, I switched it W2KPRO. It detected the card right away and installed the drivers for me. On the other hand, I am using W2K Server at home. Although I am having some troubles with games, but besides that, it never crashes, not even one single blue screen like the NT4 does. I am not saying that NT4 isn't stable, but when you compare it with W2K, you have nothing to say but upgrade...hope the info. could help! regards, Mugen C ------------------ Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do!

Need Suggestions on 3D card For W2K

Hi There, I just bought the Midtown Madness 2 yesterday, trying to run it on W2K, but the performance is extremely poor... I have a PII 450 with 128MB Ram, ATI Xpert98 8MB.....My question is....I am planning to buy a 3D card, but don't know which one is good for my limited budget. Any suggestion? Is my system capable to run this game smoothly? Thanks so much for your help! Need Suggestions on 3D card For W2K

Hi There, thanks for the advises again, I understand my CPU is giving me the limitation on the game performance. What I am looking for is...by replacing the video card. I wish I can get more decent performance while playing those new games. Also I'm planning to put more RAM into my system...upgrade to 256MB BTW, I kinda look around today for those GeForce 2 MX Cards, however, is there any recommended brand name I should get? Sorry about my "Junior" questions! Thanks! regards, Mugen C ------------------ Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do!

Need Suggestions on 3D card For W2K

Hi There, thanks for all the Advices, it's really helpful...Yes, I am using an Aopen AX6BC Motherboard....Perhaps, it's using BX chipset, so far I have no plans to do any upgrades...I think I will get the Geforce 2 MX. BTW, Do I need to take any special steps to install this 3D Card? Such as removing the original graphic card and drivers... do I need to change anything in the W2K registry to make it work or it will work perfectly with its driver? Thanks again for all your helps! regards, Mugen C ------------------ Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do!

    Can't get NFS:HS working On W2K

Hi There, I know someone must asked this question before...But after trying the instruction provided by this Forum...I was able to get it installed. I'd applied those patches, using the "-patchrestart" parameter and still couldn't get it working. I keep getting "...Files corrupted, please re-install..." Any suggestions? I really want to have it working under W2K as it is so stable...Thanks so much for your help! regards, Mugen C ------------------ Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do!
