    64Bit Time!!!

What are some of your feelings on AMD's new 64Bit Line up, and their soon to be release 64bit Desktop lineup. My Op. is the AMD has made a nice price margin for 64bit solutions and they also offer backward 32bit compatibility. Intel's 64bit/32bit(software emulation) seems WAY to freekin pricey, and the 32bit portion is slower than true 32bit (or say a equal powered 32bit P4). Windows XP 64 with the AMD 64/32bit chips would kick some serious a$$.

Guys which OS for this system?

Hyperthreading is no reason for OS choice. It is not all that great, trust me. If you want a nice stable, non bloated OS, go 2K SP4. If you want bells and whistles and a lotta sh%t you may never use go XP. Either is a goood, stable OS.

    Feral: Geeks with instruments

Check out the band Feral. They are a new local (Phoenix, AZ) band with some cool influences. 3 of the members are IT people and the drummer is a air conditioning repair guy, a perfect match. Guess we, uh, they have a unique, old school style rock sound. Free copy of our newer demo and video to the first person to figure which member I am. Don't just guess!!! http://www.feralkills.com/hell.htm

    Feral: Geeks with instruments

Haven't heard all of it. But I have to say, It sure is no Master of Puppets or And Justice... I will have to hear the whole album before i make an assessment. So far St. Anger is a cool song, but Some Kind of Monster sounds like just that.

    The Hulk

VHS quality, only like two scenes were really dark, but the rest was beautiful.

    X-Men ² ROCKED!

***SPOILER*** Nolte is David Banner, Bruce's long lost father. He also possesses mutant powers, however they are unstable like his mind! ***SPOILER*** The cinematography was awesome, a lot of the scenes look just like the comic book layouts, with sometime 5 - 6 different things happening on the screen at once.

  20. (98SE on a Dell 233MHz Laptop) This machine is on an office network with DSL. The DSL is spilt to 10 stations via a router. This laptop was working fine for a couple weeks. Then the user put Sprint ISP on there for when he was not at the office. After deciding to not use Sprint, the user uninstalls the software. Now I.E. will not display web pages, it just displays the "Server Not Found" error. I am able to see the other computers on the network and even ping various domains i.e. www.yahoo.com with a successful response. I just cannot get any webpage to load! Here's what I have tried: (1) 2 Different NICs (2) Static IP and DHCP settings (3) Installing I.E. 6.0 (4) Scanned for Viri (5) Ran Regclean (6) Ran Internet Connection Wizard like 10 times (7) Triple checked the IP addresses and DNS settings (8) Did a little dance! Nothing worked!!! Help me!

    Where's the space gone?

Yes, if you are dual booting to an older OS like 98, ME, you will not be able to boot to those OSes on an NTFS partition. Of course if you have already changed FAT32 to NTFS then you are already comitted, simply acknowledge the dialog box.

    Where's the space gone?

You are going to have to use a 3rd party piece of software to accomplish that. I.e. Partition Magic.

    Where's the space gone?

Open up disk management and take a look at how your drive is partitioned.
  24. Just what it says. What MBs are out and recommended for the 64Bit Opteron CPU. Only $299 might as well try it out.
