I just picked up a laptop for myself to use here at work so I could strictly put ICQ and run Winamp on it, and keep tabs on some personal websites of mine. 3 things you're not allowed to do with the office computers. It's a CTX 166 notebook, it's only got 16 megs of ram (64M more is on the way, if it ever shows), and it used to seem fast enough with ICQ and Winamp both going before I installed ICQ 2000a. I'm not too sure that is the problem though as I also recently reinstalled Windows 98.. and then installed ICQ 2000. The older versions of ICQ is what I was running before, and Winamp is the same winamp I had on a CDR, 2.5e. Maybe I should get the newest version of that too, but anyway. Is ICQ 2000 a major systems hog comapred to the older versions? I'll go back to an older version if I have to, unless my memory shows and makes everything fine again. Anyone?

hehe, I was gonna suggest the 300, and then ask why not a 350, or 400, but these other dudes already got ya lined out. I have a 300 watt p/s in my dual Celeron 433 at home, BP6 mobo, and it seems to be running well, I have 3 HD's and 2 CD's, a 3dfx Voodoo2, Matrox AGP, SB AWE 32, 2 NIC's bla bla bla.. It's been super stable for over a year and a half now is what I'm saying, and I have alot of stuff on it too, ya should be okay.

Will there be any CPP for Whistler? If so when?

Thanks for the info, I didn't get into the Windows CPP last year until RC2 so I wasn't sure when the usual starting release time was. I'm on both MSDN and Technet, just haven't read them too much as of late, , they come every day, and plenty of them, and they usually go right into the trash, unless I have a few minutes to read them... Which I'm gonna start doing now, reading them, hoping to see Whistler CPP info. Thanks again! [This message has been edited by Alaskan Assassin (edited 22 September 2000).] -
I remember the CPP for W2K started fairly early on in the process, any such thing this time around?

I have no opinion on browsers, I just wanna say that all those pics of Whistler look nice. Yeah, a little Maccy in their look, but oh well. The loading time on all those pics just about killed the pipe here, I thought the network was going down.. yet again. Netscape 6 was decent, it crashed a lot, but it's interface was easy to use, even a child could use it, isn't Netscape part of AOL now? That explains the look.

Wow, so ya can't download AOL 6.0 beta without getting on to AOL with an earlier version, however no earlier versions work for you? That's really screwy, give AOL an email from another computer, or OS and have then email you an FTP link or email the whole beta itself. How else can ya get it? That's rough.
