I have a panasonic toughbook (laptop) and it works perfect for almost everything i use it for. My only question is the resolution settings are all out of wack. It displays 800x600 just fine in windows and all that stuff. the problem kicks in when i start up a game. it displays the stuff fine, but it minimizes the screen a lot. Its all there, it just decreses the screen size by like an inch and a half on each side. Does anyone know why this happens, and a possible way to fix it? it does it on every game, doesnt matter which one it is. Thanks for the help

My bios is extremely basic and doesnt allow me to do much except enable and disable usb. Does anybody know any programs that will do this for me?? Thanx

I run windows 2k on my p2 400 laptop and it runs flawlessly. My only problem is that this laptop only has a 4mb video card. I was wondering if there is any software or anything i can do so my video card can share or use some of my normal pc ram. My friend said there are some programs that will allow you to do this. If anyone knows any software that will do this kind of thing it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just put a pcmcia network card into my laptop and it works really well, i would like to be able to play games with my computer though. I was wondering how to add protocols such as ipx and netbeui. When i loaded 2k on my other machine it automatically picked up the network card and asked which protocols i wanted to load. This didnt ask me that, so im not really sure what to do. I can get as far as seeing that i have tcp/ip loaded, but it doesnt let me add protocols there. If anyone knows how to do this i would greatly appreciate the info. thanks.

There are many ways different ways to tweak the ram that you have. there are a few programs like winboost 2000 and memturbo that you can get that will help with ram intensive programs.(memturbo defrags your ram so you have more to use.) You can find demo's of each of these programs at shareware.com i believe. There are also other ways to boost ram. If you run pc100 ram you can go into your bios and set the ram to a latency of 2 which will make the read/write time quite a bit faster (most motherboards automatically put the ram at a latency of 3. Putting it on 2 does not hurt your system at all if you are thinking that it might. Also your motherboard might have an option to set the ram at maximum performance which helps a bit. If you have pc133 ram do not change either of these settings because your system will not boot up the next time you restart it. pc133 cant handle a latency of 2 and cant be set at maximum performance. The easiest way by far is to just buy more ram. Two processors would help a lot too in your case it sounds like.

I was curious as to how you can remove things from the sys tray in win 2k. I know how to do it in 98 and Me, but its not quite the same. I know if you go into system information it will tell you what is starting up in the sys tray, but there isnt any way to remove the things from that list. Could anyone tell me how to do this?? Win2000 works great for 99% of my games. Diablo 2 runs better on win2k than 98 and Millenium combined. The only game that ive come across that really wont work at all is worms armageddon. I have noticed ever since I installed win 2k on my system (infinite number of times better than 98) that every pci device likes to sit on irq 11. I downloaded the first service pack and all the other stuff microsoft wants you to download, but they still sit on irq 11. one of my friends said it is supposed to do this for some reason, but i dont exactly buy that. I was wondering if anyone else had any info on this subject. When I was running 98 and i would install a new device, and it took an irq another device was using it would automatically freeze. Now I have 5 pci devices on irq 11 and the system runs like a champ. I was just curious as to why it does this. Thanks

I have a winview 601 tv/fm card and havent been able to find any win2k drivers for it anywhere. I was running ME and the 98 drivers worked fine, but when i switched to 2k nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
