I can confirm that the menus "disappear". We'll have to wait until ICQ 2002 comes out before it's fixed.
-
Where exactly are the executables for the programs installed? There are no shortcuts created in my start menu or control panel...
-
I remember reading a rumour that this will be released with XPs release... has anyone seen any screenshots/seen any proof it exists?
-
Hm, not what I had in mind. I was thinking of something like Plus! for 95 except for XP. (Where it could control the theme - skin, wallpaper, font color size, sounds, etc)

Anyone know of a way to customize the resolution/refresh rates to something other than the "list of valid modes"?
-
It gets the resolution going, but I seem to be getting some side effects... 1400x1050@32 bit, Matrox G400max, Sony CPD-G400 Whenever any type of movement happens on the screen, a horizontal "glitch" occurs in the display. I know this monitor/card combo can support the resolution. Oh well.

Seems I've always encountered problems with WinXP and DivX... - video being upside down - video not playing - the last avi file played always being in use even after media player is close - and now with 2495, none of the codecs i've tried work. Has anyone had a better experience?

Get them at Windows Update. (They enabled surround sound!)
-
Stay away from the leaked Win2k drivers. They don't function under XP. I really hope that nVidia starts manufacturing audio chipsets (from the crush mobos), and sells them off for vendors to create PCI audio cards. God knows I'll take nvidia drivers over creative's anyday. (not to mention the nvidia hardware is superior) Maybe that'll give Creative a good slap on the face

For those of you running builds 2465 and up, Norton has fixed symevent so that you can successfully run NAV. http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/symevnt/symevnt.html

I've been keeping up with the forums... seems these updated drivers caused more problems than they fixed. Hence, Microsoft pulled them off windows update.
-
Hell no I didn't have Liveware installed. The drivers have a lot of static in the background. (The bundled drivers with WinXP sound much better)
-
2481 is faster than 2475! No problems so far... and I even like the "Knight Rider" touch on the bootup screen. Have fun!
-
Perhaps it already supports the new NTFS? If not, I wonder if there are any repercussions? (ie. Chance of data corruption)
-
Guess you're SOL until you uninstall that and reinstall WinXP. There won't be any defragmenters that support WinXP until the release date gets close. (The new 5.1 NT system makes it incompatible with all available software)
-
Why not the built-in disk defragger?

Problem with installing Norton System Works 2001!!!
isochar replied to Son Gokou's topic in Hardware
It's not just Norton Utilities that are worthless... McAfee and all the other independent "utilities" are just as bad. (If not worse) Best thing to do is use just an anti-virus scanner, and leave the rest for Microsoft utilities to handle. -

Norton Anti-Virus is the only program worth installing. (Best virus program IMHO) -
Running WinXP 2465... I like the quality of the native SBLive drivers that come with it, but they don't seem to enable my rear speakers. (even in quadraphonic mode) Installing the Win2k Liveware solves this, but the quality is substantially worse. Has anyone found a way to enable the 4 speaker support using the built-in Live drivers? TIA

Does anyone have build 2465 PLZ CONTACT ME !!!!
isochar replied to dodgeviperrt10's topic in Hardware
I have it and it kicks arse -
I have a Intel Processor/Chipset with a G400max and do not experience any said issues. You may want to try running it in compatibility mode (Win2k or Win98).
-
The problem is most likely due to/related to the fact you're using a VIA based board. I'm using a CUSL2 and have never had any hard drive performance issues or any DMA enabling issues.
-
Using Build 2462, I have these 2 problems/nuisances: - everytime I pop in a blank cd, it'll open up a new browser for the drive (I'm guessing it has to do with auto-insert notification, but I can't find where to turn it off) - IE will occassionally "forget" of the toolbars [This message has been edited by isochar (edited 31 March 2001).]
