That's just a redirect for the URL I posted earlier: http://www.pbbg09989.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Other.html It's a little slow, so here's a direct link to the file to speed things up: http://www.pbbg09989.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Files/vx-wxp-1.01.exe

I haven't done a lot of testing, but Q3A, Counter Strike, UT & Max Payne all seem to work just fine.

Voodoo3 3000 AGP here... Glad to help!

It works! A little more involved than your usual driver install, but if you follow the directions, it should work: http://www.pbbg09989.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.html I even have my gamma, tv, etc tabs in the advanced display settings! Haven't benched anything, but seems to be normal perfomance, haven't noticed any problems!

If I recall, can't you just kill em_exec? That's what I've done before.

Entech also has a cool quickres-like util called multires. That's what I use.

I installed these right over my 1.04's (filename says 1.03 for some reason, but they are 1.04s) in 2k with SP1 and things seem to run fine, better actually. Quake III isn't all screwy anymore and UT is a tad smoother.

I had this in Win95 once, you just need to find an older/different version of opengl32.dll and put in your Q3 directory.

I don't think this is quite what you want, but maybe as close as you'll get: http://www.instalservis.cz/Download/fXplorer/ -
I tried playing a mp3 while copying a 300mb file (copy and paste in explorer) and it didn't even hicup. 320kbps mp3 too. So not sure if it has anything to do with bus. Or maybe my problem isn't the same as yours.

Hi, I've got some weird problems with sound in Windows 2000. In general windows apps, everything has a reverb/echo/ambience effect, which is very annoying. There is a similar effect in games, only on some it makes everything sound stuttery, like it is replaying sounds over themselves. I stuck in an old SB16 ISA and had similar problems. Everything works fine in win95. I have a generic soundcard with a FM-801 chipset. I'm using Forte's 2.00D drivers (newest), Win2k with SP1, DirectX 8, newest via drivers (4.15a i think). Any ideas people? This is driving me crazy... Thanks!

Normally I don't get stuttering at all (my harddrive is great), but I do remember noticing it some at the start of UT levels lately. ViperRacing stutters (sound) terribly, but it doesn't use the harddrive while playing. HD goes to sleep sometimes. Viper may just have problems since it's not even suppose to run in 2k. Here's my specs: 350mhz K6-2 on a Soyo 5EMA+ Super 7 192MB PC100 SDRAM 20GB Maxtor 7200RPM Voodoo3 3000 AGP w/TV out FM-801 A3D Generic Sound 3Com/USR Hardware PCI 56k SCSI Card/Acer 620S Scanner Plextor 8/4/32 Burner @ 8X NEC Antec HX08 Full Tower w/300W PS

I know there was a thread on this a while back, but didn't really answer my question. Just turned into a flamefest about SBLive problems. Is the situation any better now? I've been thinking about a SBLiveValue, but not sure. Mostly I just listen to CD's and play games like UT and ViperRacing. I don't need anything real fancy, but I would like 4 speaker support for sure. Is the Santa Cruz really worth $40 more than a Value? Has anyone tried one in 2k? Does it work?

I have this problem too, see my post here.

I think power supplies usually only cause hard lock and instant reboot problems, where Giblore is getting Bluescreens, which are basically explained now. What was that third one Giblore?

MB is a Soyo 5EMA+ VIA based Super 7 board. And no it isn't the microphone, does it with headphones too. It's is intential ambient effect I think.

No Problem! Glad to help! Sorry it's not totally fixed though... [ January 01, 2001: Message edited by: isaacg ]

Try this. Should fix ya right up.

Try going into Control Panel > System > Advanced > Start-up and rocovery > and uncheck automatically reboot. Then try again and see if it gives you a Blue Screen error message.

Anyone know how to make Win2k ignore the fact that my computer isn't a pure Dell computer? It must check the bios or motherboard somehow, but how can I get it to run anyway? Thanks so much, Isaac
